Some goose entrepreneurs!

A story here about our wild Egyptian geese. The photo above was taken in June, but sadly since they have lost all of the babies to predators. But we are hoping that they will have another batch before they leave for the summer!

Today I will show you the tricks that the Egyptian Geese play on us!

Sally at the front shouted "Treats, treats, go get the treats" and Harry behind her pointed his head at the house!

Today I will show you the tricks that the Egyptian Geese play on us!

I was standing here talking to the lady when Harry and Sally arrived after having lunch in our garden. So the lady turned and went into her house to fetch their desserts!

281.JPG

They followed the lady impatiently and Harry was looking to see when or if the lady would return!

285_LI (2).jpg

"Come, come, come", Harry said, "we don't have all day dear lady"!

288_LI (2).jpg

This has become a ritual. Sally eats first and our Harry will wait like a true gentleman until it's his turn to eat.

Just wanted to show you how the wildlife here has adapted to the invasion of human developments into their areas. Yes there are kind persons, such as this lady that feeds them and there are others that kill them for invading their gardens and homes.
We also used to feed Harry and Sally in the road outside our home, but some residents complained about the bucket of water and pieces of bread in the road.
Now we feed them inside our garden.

The animals were here first and we feel like imposters, but we do our best to make their lives better and to accept them as a necessary part of nature in our lives.

And That's All Friends!

You're so very right, some people can't call themselves humans when they're cruel to defenseless animals! But I just love how you always weave such amusing stories around your creatures!

The way of life dear Lizzie, some are cruel and others are kind.
I try my best to be the latter and humor is a great deal in my make-up hahaha.
Glad that you like my stories my friend.

Blessings to you guys!

What kind of people don't want geese and other wildlife around? Just do your own thing as you do! Sometimes America is really crazy. I used to live there ;) My Mom isn't allowed to have any trees that bear fruit in her front yard... Go figure? Haha. When I was a kid my neighbors tore up their lawn and created an arboretum. They fed birds and I learned about bird watching from them. Wonderful memories that really impacted my life! Great feeding you're doing :) Keep up the good work...

In life there are cruel people and there are kind people my friend. It's our choice what we want to be.
We are in South Africa, but the same situation is present in most of the other countries.
We have also torn up our lawn and we are in the process of restoring our garden to match the local nature in our area. But we only draw wild birds and I prefer it as freedom in this life is a precious gift.
Glad that you had those experiences as a child, as your love for nature is clearly reflected in your writings.

Thank you for the visit and blessings to you and yours!

Thanks for responding and your kind words. Yes I always say the way a society or person treats animals is a real reflection of their inner beings.

Very true as animalos like good characters and they can sense them.
My mom used to say that we should never have anything to do with people that don't like animals.
Today we understand why.
