Ocean's secrets on the beach!

Come and collect 2 Hive here for the correct answer to my challenge!

The first correct answer will win the 2 HP (see the end of the post)!

Here you will see a small selection of the ocean's wonders interspersed by photos of our seabirds. Since we moved to this province and eventually found our ideal place to live, far away from the big cities, we are making so many new discoveries.
With the mountains behind us and the ocean at the front, what more can a nature loving person ask for.
According to me, we have the very best of both worlds!
Come and see!

433.JPG

Welcome to the beach of our Atlantic ocean!

273.JPG

Spongy growth brought out by the sea waves to amaze us!

448.JPG

A gull in flight, checking if we might be carrying some food!

271.JPG

Multi colored growths that the strong waves have ripped from their deep sea locations!

379.JPG

Some more Kelp gulls out on a surveyance flight!

265.JPG

Of course we love the ocean waves playing in the late sunlight!

361.JPG

Sealife and it's beautiful seabirds at it's best!

Finally, here is the Challenge!

IMG_1188.JPG

What is inside this ugly slimy and spongy blob in the picture above?

Here's a clue: A stinky treasure that many men are after?

I will announce the winner in a post about the stuff!

Please let me have your answers in the comments!

And That's All Folks!

The sea holds many secrets and it is so great to learn some of them. Takes a person away from the drearyness of ordinary daily life and its problems.
Every time that I get to the beach, I mentally put all of my worldly thoughts in a bag and I leave it in the boot of our car lol.
Just to walk in peace and wonderment at what mother nature reveals to us.
This is life!

Note: All photos are my own, unedited and cropped for uploading!
Camera used: Canon Powershot SX60HS

No, not a pearl my friend, but thank you for the visit.
Natural beauty was made for us all to share, as it is a free gift to every human being.
Glad that I could refresh your mind.

I know the seagulls, but I have no idea what the other things are.
Besides the cool shots of the seagulls in flight I like he first photo most, which shows a shell I guess, but as said I have no idea. Especially I cannot say what that thing on the last photo could be.

I think that you will get a nice surprise when I show you in a post what it is Sir Johann.
So interesting what one can learn while walking on the beach, and I am not shy to ask locals what they are doing whenever I see them busy with something on the beach.
Glad that you liked the photos my friend.

Blessings and thank you!

Yes, I enjoyed this post and I'm still thinking what it could be. I have to admit that I was trying to cheat, because I have made a search for similar images, but I haven't found any 😭
Now I am really curious 😀

A slight bit unfair, but a clue here without giving you the actual answer.
It is found in South Africa and it is a fisherman's treasure!
Now stop trying to cheat hahaha.

Blessings and thank you!

Answer is in and I tagged you my friend.
Hope that you like the unexpectedness of the answer and I spentt some time researching it, as everyone here only knows it by it's common local name.
I knew that it had to have a scientific name and was surprised at some of its medical properties.

Blessings and thank you!

I have seen it and I should have thought of the Red Bait, because you said you would make a separate post of it 😉

fishermen tresure! that solidifies my 1st thought: as i've read, whale's umbra (whale muscus, used in perfume industries, is very-very valuable stuff), some fishermen that happen to find it in their nets, may suddenly become reacher by 10 or even 200 k USD :)

Yeah, I have also read about what they call whale vomit and it was indeed very valuable, but no more.
It is not whale vomit, or mucus, but rather a growth in the whale intestines.
The perfume companies don't use it anymore.

Blessings!

I am so far from the sea that most of its treasures are a mystery to me! Wonderful photos of the seagulls. Thanks for sharing them with Feathered Friends.

We also used to live very far away from the sea Lady Melinda and as a youngster on the farm at least we had mountains.
But I have always dreamt of living in a place such as we have now.
Yes, late in my life, but better late than never.

Blessings and thank you ❤️

Ps. I will also soon post another entry for your Shadows thingy.

Beautiful birds and beach @papilloncharity! The top photo
almost looks like a egg in the middle of the sea life.
Is the mass of stuff in the last photo ''Ambergris''? I've heard
whale 🐳 barf is very costly! :-)

No, I am sorry, but it's not "Ambergis" I am afraid, else I would be rich hahaha.

Blessings and thank you again.

Oh how I miss the ocean, I can smell it just looking at your wonderful photos my friend! The only thing I can think of is that it's red bait? But then I never took much notice of it, my dad and brothers used to get it off the rocks, and ghis specimen is lying on the beach?

hmmm... a stinky treasure? is that umbra ?!

I'd gave my liver for an opportunity to see this every day :/

With the mountains behind us and the ocean at the front, what more can a nature loving person ask for.

absolutely agree with you.

Nope, not umbra, as it is called Red Bait. I have posted the answer in the post following this one my friend.
Trading your liver for a good sight is not a good idea.
Rather one kidney hahaha.

Stay well and take care!
