Different white eye birds!

157.JPG

Now hold on, we know that this little Cape White-eye (Zosterops pallidus) is beautiful, but I will show show you a different white eye bird specie that landed here this morning.

Meet the other type of a white eye bird namely the Cape Bulbul (Pycnonotus capensis).
128.JPG

It was early morning just before sunrise and already the cold of the coming winter has set in.

The Bulbul sat wrapped up in his coat here.

This shot was taken a few minutes later and you can see that he was waiting for the sun.

Finally, the sun started to slowly make its appearance.

We have a few varieties of Bulbul's here in the country and the ones where we come from up north do not have the white rings around their eyes. You can imagine how surprised we were to see Bulbul's with white rings on their faces.

Here is more information on the Bulbuls.

The Cape bulbul (Pycnonotus capensis) is a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is an endemic resident breeder in coastal bush, open forest, gardens and fynbos in western and southern South Africa.

These photos are so beautiful, they have so much life, so much nature. The birds definitely arrive with force and show us the magnificence of Mother Earth. I loved your post. Greetings and blessings.

I am always amazed how many different kinds of beautiful birds you have there in South Africa. The Cape Bulbul looks well fed ;)

In this photo the little Cape White-eye is easier to see than in the other photo you showed me earlier 😁

Huh, I almost thought that I had just answered this comment, but then I saw that it's for the Bulbuls 🤣

Yes, I knew that you were going to look at the post and so I had to make the small white-eye easier to find, as I don't want to strain your eyes 🤣

Here is an eye strainer 🤣

Thank you Zac - my eyes are tired anyway and would love if I closed them and let them sleep now ;)

This photo is cool - blurry, not sharp at all and much too bright where the main object is, but it's looking great. I like that the sun lets the legs of the bird disapear and you can only see the feet below, walking on the roof. I like it :)

Hahaha, I hope that you have since had a chance to close your eyes for some hours my friend.

Yeah, I normally delete those photos, but something about this one just held my imagination.
It is way too bright and you are correct, as the subject is blurred, but I know the subject personally (Harry) and just thought that they can sit in that bright light naturally.
It would certainly blind us.

Cheers and thanks.

Yes, last night I could sleep at home ;) lol

Sometimes the images we think are the worst, are the best, and I really do like this photo - it's special 😀 ... and maybe Harry had a invisible sunglasses on 😎

Good morning Hannes,

Just spoke to my daughter in the UK and surprised that they had snow there.
Oh yes, the office sleeping in never comfortable 🤣

I just hope that Harry was not wearing cheap Chinese sunglasses, as he could go blind and never see Sally again 🤣

Here's Sally in a sunset shot.

Hey you must be careful with your wishes mate. We don't want to give the dark any ideas and all things are meant for us to see.

Sally is indeed a model bird and I took a few shots of them early morning today in the very strong winds that we have here.

Cheers and thanks.
