A rainy day at last!

358.JPG

The Jackal Buzzard hunkered in the tree tops looking for prey that were running around seeking shelter from the rain.

We came out to the mountains to see if the fire, that we have in the mountains over the past week, has crept over to our side.
What I love about rainy days is that there are no people out and we have the entire landscape to ourselves.
Come and walk with us!

I think that I told you it was a rainy day and the wind started to blow the dark fire cloud sideways above the mountains.
374.JPG

Here the Jackal Buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus) took off and he must have spotted something below the trees, as it was too far off for us to see.
345.JPG

As you can imagine, during the rain not many birds were out and we were blessed by this "African Stonechat" (Saxicola torquatus) and his wife enjoying the rain.
307.JPG

Look how beautiful his wife is and it is not often to get them together as a couple.
320.JPG

A real lovely little lady methinks.
322.JPG

The guy decided to perform a happy dance in the rain.
304.JPG

Finally, the dark cloud in the middle mountain peak has taken on a much lighter color and the rain was helping the fire fighters.
260.JPG

Todays news about the fire is that it has now destroyed 13600 hectares of veld and some unreachable areas were left to hopefully burn themselves out.
You can read todays news about the fire here:
Source

So yes, the brave firefighting teams continue to work in shifts battling the fire and thankfully air support is also available.
The weather today has broken the very hot normal conditions which should do well to finally distinguish the fire.
We shall wait, pray and hope.

And That's All Friends!

Note: All photos are my own and taken with a Canon Powershot SX60HS Bridge camera.

We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.

Great to hear the fires have been dowsed, these runaway bush fires are so destructive!

Great sightings with the birds sitting a little more still than usual with the rain around Stephen.

I take it lockdown level 1 will last for a month or so, politicians need to get out and about politicking again, so come Easter the new implementations will come into affect once again, call me cynical but that is how I read into things 😄

!BEER to celebrate the fires hopefully extinguished!

We had 14000 fires in total in the year 2018 ending March 2019 and I have not looked at the 2020 stats yet. By now the our fire-fighting teams work in total synch with the relief teams from other towns.
Thankfully "Working on Fire" is also around and their planes and choppers are a great boon to reach the inaccessible areas.
So yes, it seems that we have become a fire hot spot.

I think that the birds were just as surprised as us about the rain 🤣

Oh yes, a quick political burst and there is already talk of the third wave arriving in April.
Such is life.

Sorry, no beers or wine left my friend.

Too many fires of late one hopes if done through negligence or on purpose people start to be held accountable.

Pandering to politicians and all the bullshit they serving up one can only hope eventually some form of democracy will eventually be realized.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, yest the wine and beers run out too soon!

This country will remain in trouble as long as everyone is targetting the money pots Lady Joan.
Burn them out, populate them out, sow dissention and disunity, anything to get to power.
And yet, we endure and endure and endure.....................................

I hope you got the other beer that I sent and here is another try !BEER

Ps. The wine one says that I must buy wine tokens, so no more wine 🤣

One gets dismayed witnessing the dirt, destruction, devils running the country into the dirt. Yet looking around the world there are places as bad if not far worse off.

Pontificate time is over... time to bite the bullet, those who commit treason should face a bullet, why must taxpayers pay for them to live in jails.

On a lighter note, birds rule watching the weather still sourcing a meal teaching us a thing or two 😌

That seems to be the trouble Lady Joan, "pontification" and nothing happening.
If any of us were to steal a cent we would be in jail, so they are showing us that it's better to steal millions.

Hahaha, the birds are forever teaching us lessons my friend.

New regime learned extremely well from the old, do not like nor respect anyone who tears down, depriving people of much.

Nature still a sure way to escape, with a !WINE in hand to calm one down...

Had about 3 hours sleep last night and feel like a zombie today Lady Joan.
I will go and find a tree to sit under when the light arrives 😜

Yes indeed, in the past it was just done more "cultured", or should we say sly.
Nowadays it's in the open and it's ugly indeed. Grab a billion, live the high life, while children are malnourished and have to live in shacks. A sure recipe for disaster.
But such is life.

Stop breeding, possible solution to problem that should have happened long ago, restricted family size.

Never to happen in Africa as children are viewed as investments for the future when the parents grow old and another boon to have many is the free child grant.
A sure way to grow huge populations.

Child grants don't work, not economically viable. Time for business to grow if people are still interested in working, it may lift many out of poverty.

Oh no, they do work as they result in votes Lady Joan.
The purpose is to make the people dependent on the government, so that the government can stay in power regardless of what they do.

If you are hungry, you will be thankful to the person in the Mercedes for giving you a few slices of bread.

Big population does not equal willing to work nation. A couple of gift parcels from government, suddenly fixes all, yes sheeple do not change, they will vote them in again.... So the cycle continues!

Happy Sunday, I know you don't drink !BEER hold onto this one for fun.

The buzzard looks great, Zac, the other birds are lovely too.
But the best news is that the rain will help the firefighters to stop the fires.

Great news Lady Melinda, no smoke today.
The weatherman said that it would be 24C with rain today, but this morning he changed his mind, as it is back to the heat with 27C and no rain.

Thankfully it seems that the rain did the job yesterday and we are waiting for feedback.

Thank you kindly for the POINTS tip and I think that you can see that I have a thankful heart today.

All that I can give you is a !BEER, as my wine is finished.

Blessings!
