Come join us for a short Saturday trip.

First I will show you my first Acraea Butterfly of the new Spring season.

It was a lovely clear day and this afternoon we decided to pop out for a short drive to a local farm.
Color was in my mind and of course new life in nature. So today I will show you some beautiful photos that reflect the beauty of nature.
Come and have a look.

On the drive we saw this UFO cloud on the mountains and I took a few more shots of it for another post.

So here you have it, a range of warm colors to cheer you up and we hope to lift some spirits in the people that read this post. Especially those in the Northern Hemisphere where Winter will soon appear.
Just a reminder that after the cold days of winter, your spring season will also follow.
Nature over here consists of a palette of colors and soon the sun will put on its fiery cloak and try to set new heat records in our country. Not for nothing is it called the blazing African sun.
Such is life.

Great to see all of your posts on Twitter again. Okay maybe not all as I am not on there every day, but whenever I am then I do a retweet.

Our weekend is mostly spent here at home as it is a long weekend here and all of the places are filled with holiday makers.

Last big crowds that I was in was at a Woodstock festival here in the 60s and oh yes, also in the army 1972.

I think the last crowd I did was a Grateful Dead like big concert in a park was ok but glad when it was over to get out of there everyone smoking weed I didn’t take a puff but sure I had the effect lol

Hahaha, so you also know what it feels like floating home JJ.
The 60s and 70s were wild years and I think that this new generation are repeating the break throughs of those years. But not like we did it with music, no they do it with the Internet.

In our days it was freedom from the laws and today it is freedom from the banks with crypto.
Strange how thing work out.

Yep you are a youngster Lol.
I was 6 years old in 60 and a young man when all of the fun took place.
So, I grew up with that music in the 60s and the 70s.

The Stones and the Beatles were youngsters and most of the rock band players were youngsters.
Now they all look like wrinkled tortoises hahaha. (Including me)

Cool the tour you made was a good one. All these are the discovery in the tour but I have never seen this creatures before only for the red fly which I know to be dragon fly if actually that's the name it's called

So nice, the butterflies are coming back and this is a beautiful little guy 😀

Maybe you should sometimes post ugly things, Zac, and not always these amazing looking dragonflies or Mr Beauty, the Malachite 🤣

Glad that you had time to do some replies. Yes the butteflies are slowly starting to appear and today I missed a Citrus Swallowtail, A small one so I asked him to come back when he is an adult 🤣

Oy Vay, the only ugly thing that I have to post is my face and you know that we hate selfies 🤣
So best that I don't post my face as little children and your kittens will have nightmares 🤣

Sunday was good and today was also good as you will see in my post.

Our day was a bit hotter than warm and I am glad that you had a nice day.

Hi Hannes,

Yeah with a bit of luck I might get a Citrus some day.

But in saying this, I got something very special today. One bird that is missing from my full set of the species. I thought that I would never get one, as they live in semi-desert areas.
But he came and sat in a bush near me and I jumped with joy.

Right and agreed, no selfies and Big Pharma will hate me as their traquilizer pill sales for children and cats will drop.

We are now in Wednesday and you think it is still Sunday?
I am worried about your forgetfullness my friend 🤣🤣🤣

Oh yes, I remember that you guys had an Indian Summer last year.

Wait is over as it was my first post today my friend.
Hive price is down, as I thought that post was worth much more.
But I am not complaining as things are down in all of the financial systems and even bitcoin didn't esape the crunch.

I have to sincerely apollogise, as Marian told me that today is Wednesday. So now I have done all of the work for the 4 days already and only 3 days remain 🤣🤣🤣

By now it was ether nice sun, or wet rain and you had to beg the wife for a lift home.
I hope it was the first and not the last 😎

Strange as they say that tomorrow we will have a wet day.

After this mad Friday, I need a day to recover as first Marian forgot our medical card at the dentist and we fetched it this morning, then later today we went out and I lost the car keyes.
So yes, I need a nice easy day at home 😜

I hope that your chauffeur is a peaceful person and she doesn't argue with her passengers while she has them trapped in her car 🤣🤣🤣

Today was nice and the weekend will also be nice, says the weatherman, but next weeks forecast didn't show the sun 🌧️

Haha, what can I say? Last week I left my phone at work, yesterday the whole bag with my things and the camera as well. Often I sit on my motorbike and wonder what I am missing ... the helmet 🤣

Oh yes, she's quite nice, especially when the weather is nice in the morning and I ride on the bike instead of driving with her 😂

Ah, so Marian just said hi shame, so Hannes also loses his things all over the place 🤣

Now you have started a thing as she reminded me that I lost our phone in a flower bed, that I left my whole camera bag at Jeff's coffee house 3 times, how I put the car keys in the fridge and and and.
Cruel Hannes as you can always start something unpleasant here 🤣

In my defense all that I said was that you also lose things in the hope that she would think it's normal 🤣

We had rain overnight and looks like again tonight, so the days are crisp and fresh.
Got me an owl today.

Last week I was searching my keys. I searched the whole office and also my pockets where I usually have them. After a while searching I found them ... in my right pocket where I have looked twice 🤣

Our weather is quite nice but it has become colder. I have seen the post und will have a look at it later.

I carry the camera bag and the car keys in my left hand on the way to the car, but then I feel in my pocket to get the car keys and I go back into the house to search for the keys. Marian asked, what I was searching for and I told her the car keys.
So she said, but there's your keys in your hand with the camera bag and of course she laughed at me 🤣🤣🤣

Cold breeze here today and very cloudy, but at least I got some nice photos.
Sounds like winter is slowly coming in at your side.

That reminds me on just about the same story that happened to me last year: I was at home and searched the car keys which I held in my hand 😂 and my wife helped me searching - she didn't see them in my hand either 🤣🤣🤣

It was pretty warm today and because of the fog this morning hasn't been cold either, but tomorrow the weather should change to a little bit more wet 🌧️ but I hope the weatherman is wrong again.

Maybe my sub-concious mind reminded me about your story last year and that's why I had the key in my hand. But Marian saw it immediately as she always takes the bags to put them into the car.
So as she took the camera bag out of my hand there was the key that I was searching for 🤣

I hope you are right but best would be not to go on the bike.

I was on my bike and I stayed dry 😃 Tomorrow will be rainy they say - it it's dry in the morning I'll go by bike because I have nightshift and don't need to go home anyway, and Wednesday might be fine again, who knows ;)

So when are the nightshifts going to end, or will you continue with it until you retire?

I would do the same as you know I only had a bike a long time ago and I had to be on the job come rain or shine. Summer and winter for about 4 years.

Then I did a private roofing job for a guy and he gave me my first car. A Ford 20M.

I hope that the weather will be good for your return after the nightshift.

It brings money Zac, 4 nightshifts I bring me almost as much as my wife gets working the whole month. That means I will do it till I retire.

In Winter you need a car - it's icy and often we have deep snow, a bike wouldn't be able to survive a Winter, at least not mine 😎

The weather forecast looks even worse tomorrow, but I don't give up hope .. or leave the bike here and drive home with my wife 😉

Very wise timing my friend. I unfortunately have the habit to wait until the very last minute before I return.
At times the light is so dark that my photos start to blur and only then will I give up.
I told you that Marian says I am a statue when I am out there with my camera.

Because I have come home from nightshift I have been a little bit tired, otherwise I would have driven to another valley and mountain for a waterfall shoot, but I decided that it was better to drive home, edit the photos and make a post ;)

I don't like shooting in the night, although I try it from time to time, so I am most times early at home. And at least when it gets darker or when I take long exposure photos of waterfalls or water in general I use a tripod, as you might know. Maybe a tripod would be a good idea for you too, because then you wouldn't have to stand still like a statue ... I know you don't like tripods 😎

I just hope that you has some sleep during the nightshift.

Nope, my tripod is gathering dust somewhere as it is a cumbersome thing.
I hate it when my camera is screwed in on the tripod and a big bird or a plane comes flying over like this.

I took this shot at 7pm today and if my camera was on a tripod, that plane woud be gone before I got the camera off the tripod.

yes, I know why you don't like tripods 😉 and when I sometimes shoot wildlife or insects, I also don't use one. But especially when it's darker or if I am in a forest I need one.

Yes, I can understand your need of a tripod Hannes, as most times they handy when one wants to take fixed targets. But for action shots they are useless. Light is also always a problem for photo blurrs and a tripod can fix that. I am just a tubborn old man and as long as my hands are not shaking yet, I will continue to shoot free hand.

Not to worry if you don't have the time, as you have to do what takes the priority.

You will see in the battle between a crow and an invading hawk why I shoot free hand Hannes.
They fly all over the sky and a tripod will never get the shots.

But I think that a tripod can also spoil a person as it is easy and steady shots, which is essential in fixed target shooting. But if a mountain had to jump up and down then a tripod will be a waste 🤣

That project is still going on and I don't think that it will be finished till the end of November, but we are making progress and it's a lot less work already.

Nope, no plans yet, because first I have to make sure that I don't have to work 😉
I have to use up my vacation days because otherwise it will expire, so at least 7 work days from 2019 I'll have to use in 2021.

So you have 7 days and what Marian does is that she takes a few days every 2 weeks.
If you take 2 days on a Thursday and Friday, then you have the Saturday and Sunday free, if you are not working shifts and that gives you a long weekend.

So you can have at least 3 long weekends (6 days) and then you can take the remaining day on a Friday that will give you a shorter long weekend 😉
