January Ducks

It was a cold but sunny day in Bend OR. We had made our way down to the Old Mill District for a little walk. As we crossed the foot bridge across the Deschutes River we noticed the din of quacking and splashing.

It appears that we were to witness a mass feeding event. If you examine the following photos you see a lot of splashes and tail feathers as the ducks dive for what ever tasty morsels are below the surface. :)

oops not a duck, but I already did a post on geese so this guy will have to go here. :)

Lastly I found these two shots interesting. In the left photo the ducks feathers appear to have a purplish tint. As I stepped a couple paces left and photographed the same two ducks the feathers are back to green. I guess it is all about perspective. :)
