En la ísla de Margarita,Venezuela,donde vivo,habitan 2 especies de colibríes,las fotos que muestro son del colibrí Esmeralda llamado también Esmeralda Coliazul,tomarle una foto a un colibrí es un desafìo,no cuento con una cámara de gran alcance,tomo mis fotos con un teléfono a pájaros que llegan a mi huerto.Sinceramente admiro el trabajo de hivers que muestran fotografías increibles,muestran un trabajo hermoso que me motiva cada vez mas,por lo cual mis disculpas si estas se distorsionan un poco.Estamos en tiempos de Covid y no puedo arriesgarme a salir a explorar ,sin embargo trato de hacer mi mejor esfuerzo,porque me encanta esta comunidad,amo los pájaros.

In Margarita Island,Venezuela,where I live,there are 2 species of hummingbirds,the photos I show are of the Esmeralda hummingbird also called Esmeralda Coliazul,taking a photo of a hummingbird is a challenge,I don't have a powerful camera,I take my photos with a phone to birds that come to my orchard. I sincerely admire the work of hivers who show incredible photographs,they show beautiful work that motivates me more and more,so my apologies if these are distorted a little.We are in Covid times and I can't risk going out to explore ,however I try to do my best,because I love this community,I love birds.

Los colibríes son muy veloces,son conocidos también en la ísla como "chiritos de la Virgen del Valle", esto se debe a que simbolizan bondad y amor para los isleños,segun las historias ,han sido antesala a las las apariciones de la Virgen,por ello son respetados ,la entrada de uno a un hogar es sinónimo de bendiciones para el mismo.Son pájaritos de pico muy largo por lo general pero el colibrí esmeralda tiene el pico un poco mas corto,aunque igual destaca y que les permite succionar el néctar de flores acampanadas como las de la foto,las cuales por cierto las llaman "lagrimas de Cristo".Les muestro también las fotos originales.

Este colibrí es solitario y ciertamente por lo general lo veo solo alimentándose,su pico es mas corto que el de otros colibríes pero su habilidad es incuestionable.Se caracterizan por su color verde esmeralda,cobrizo,los machos tienen la frente y coronita verde ,la hembra tiene la carita con parche oscuro y una línea blanca cerca del ojo.En general poseen cola larga y con color negro azuloso.

This hummingbird is solitary and certainly I usually see it alone feeding, its beak is shorter than other hummingbirds but its ability is unquestionable.they are characterized by their emerald green color, coppery, males have green forehead and crown, the female has the face with dark patch and a white line near the eye.in general they have long tail and bluish black color.
