"Romeo" is a feathered friend.
--
El loro de mi vecina
exhibe con su decoro
candela, azul cielo, y oro,
y brillos de mandarina,
por el patio, la cocina
y cerca del vecindario
se escucha llegar a diario
con garganta cantarina.
"Romeo" puede chistar
doblandito la cabeza,
y con gracia y sutileza
tiene fino caminar
que se puede comprobar
cuando va de pieza en pieza,
y una serenata empieza
a dar en cualquier lugar.
Milagros mucho lo cuida
pues ya tiene diecisiete,
y parece un mozalbete
que ha comenzado la vida
pues su senda está servida
porque en palabras sinceras
sus alas están enteras
y tiene siempre comida.
"Romeo" es un emplumado
muy amigo de la gente
que de modo diligente
va y le lleva algún bocado,
pero a aquel que se ha pasado
al templarlo por el rabo
hará que se ponga bravo,
y allí saldrá picoteado.
Parece un bello trofeo
por su plumaje exquisito
multicolor y bonito
que se aprecia en su paseo,
y por eso yo deseo
pidiendo a Dios que su edad
siga con longevidad
porque es precioso "Romeo"

My neighbor's parrot
exhibits with its decorum
fire, sky blue, and gold,
and tangerine glitters,
through the patio, the kitchen
and close to the neighborhood
you hear arriving daily
with a singing throat.
"Romeo" may whistle
head bending,
and with grace and subtlety
it has fine walking
that can be verified
when it goes from piece to piece,
and a serenade begins
to give anywhere.
Milagros takes care of him a lot,
well, he's already seventeen
and he looks like a lad
that life has begun
because his path is served
because in honest words
their wings are whole
and always has food.
"Romeo" is a feathered

that diligently
goes and takes him a bite,
but to the one who has passed
by tempering it by the tail

for its exquisite plumage
multicolored and pretty
that is appreciated in its walk,

asking God that its age
stick with longevity
