Feathered Friends - Swans and Cygnets
I had a walk down to the village lido to see how the five cygnets were getting on.
Sadly, it looks as though we have lost one. I'm not sure what has happened to it. Nature can be very cruel sometimes.
The four remaining cygnets are doing very well though.

Yeah it's rare to have all the cygnets survive. Sometimes they die of a sickness but usually it's from a predator of some kind.
Yes it's sad because they were all doing really well.
A fox took out a couple of the baby geese that were over here. Are there any foxes over there?
Yes. I sometimes see one or two around the bus shelter across the road from me. Sometimes people catching the bus late at night throw their left over food on the floor. The foxes finish it off!
