An Eastern Song Sparrow

When I was visiting my Nephew recently I was outside checking out a pond, by his house, when I spotted a little Song Sparrow as it was running across the grass. It is an Eastern Song Sparrow to be precise so depending on what region you live in then they may vary some in color. I only captured three photos of the little singer so I'm adding just a few edits into my post as well.

This is the first photo that I took along with an edit that I did. I was glad that he (or she) stopped long enough for me to get this shot!

This is an action shot as he was running across the grass. I think he was looking for little bugs to eat that were in the grass and by the rocks. In the warmer months they will eat different kinds of bugs including ants, spiders, grasshoppers, and beetles along with worms and fruits. During the winter months they feed mostly on seeds.

In my last photo I think the little Song Sparrow spied me with my camera and it flew off right after I took this shot. I'm glad the photo came out nicely and I think he looks quite cheeky standing on the rock and looking over at me! 😊
