A New Feathered Friend to Brighten up Monday
Hello all and Happy Monday from our Little Feathered Friends
Hello everyone, I had a new visitor show up today. We had a break in the rain a few times today and wile out on the deck smoking a little brown bird showed up and perched close by. It called out a few times and a few moments later this little redhead showed up and then they began feasting on Sunflower seeds.
Not sure what type of bird this is. A Google search on the image comes back as a Common House Finch. This one is a male, the female was the one that showed him the seeds ( didn't get a image of her) and soon left. This one has been back at each break in the rain today loading up on sunflower seeds.
This one is still a little shy around me and it wouldn't stick around wile I was out on the deck so these shots were taken through the sliding glass door that go out to the deck.
I shot more that a few images of him but out of about 60 shots I only got about 10 usable images. O.o shooting through double pains of cheep sliding door glass doesn't give one the sharpest images lol
This little guy loves the sunflower seeds and only eats them and the sparrows eat just about everything else and rarely go for the sunflower seeds.
It's supposed to stop raining tonight and be clear and warm all next week, hopefully I can get out to the local marsh as there are 1000's of birds in it right now
Hopefully Mr. Finch here is a regular visitor and I can get some sharper images of them.
Hope you all have a great week !!

Lovely captures of the pretty bird. I hope the bird visits you again.
Thanks @redheadpei he was back today several times already. He's still a little shy though and takes off when I'm on the deck. I think they just moved into the neighborhood.
Such a lovely little red bird! The photos are great, even through the glass. I can't wait to see what you find in the marsh. !tip
Hello @melinda010100 and thanks =)
It's still raining on and off this morning so no trip to the marsh, camera isn't weather sealed. It is lightening up and I can see patches of blue in the clouds so hopefully it's done raining for a bit.
Shooting through the glass door made them all come out soft. I had to do a lot of editing for sharpness, clarity, and a touch of contrast to get them to work.
I understand! Most of my bird photos are through the glass, matter of fact, I had to go out yesterday to wash the window because the camera kept trying to focus on the splatters on the window instead of the birds.
I am very tired of all the dark rainy days we are having here. It gets awfully depressing.

Looks like a Purple Finch. I always had a bunch of them at my sunflower feeders when I lived in Massachusetts. Wonderful little birds and great photos,
Thanks @ultratrain haven't been able to go out to get many images recently so I've had to get creative with what I can find around the house lol

Those are some great photos of that pretty little Finch @chromiumone!! I see them at the feeder here occasionally but they are too fast for me and fly off at the sound of me opening the window. Is it sad that I haven't thought to open the screen and leave the window closed..lol. Anyway, good luck on your Marsh venture..I know you'll get more great photos to share! 😉 💖
Thanks @deerjay been itching to get out to the marsh this year, just need it to stop raining now lol.
Ha the white crowned sparrow that hangs out here was fussing at the finch this morning. Also it looks like the Sparrow has a mate now.
You're very welcome! We've had a lot of rain here also and crazy fluctuating temps. I bet that was a sight to see those birds being fussy..lol. Hope the rain clears up soon for you! 🙂
at least rain helped for some mushrooms (mica cap) to grow. had a nice macro photo-session with fungi and bird session with tele yesterday, after the 3 or 4-days rain have stopped :P

awesome captures! (looking a bit too dark, on my display, tho). hope it enjoyed the sunflower seeds and will come back again, and your camera will be by the hand :P
Yeah It's a dark cloudy day with intermittent rain.
myself, I tend to process photos rather like I want them to look, neither like they are 100% in reality. I am kinda engaged in decorating reality :)
