Eudocimus ruber - Scarlet ibis

Eudocimus ruber - Scarlet ibis.

Greetings friends!

Today I want to present to you a series of photographs showing a magnificent bird called the Scarlet Ibis.

Usually, I prefer to photograph a sparrow in the wild than a bird in a cage, but the Rivne Zoo allowed me to see some live bird species that I may never see in the wild. The ibis is one such bird.

When I say the word Ibis, the first. what comes to mind is ancient Egypt, because it was the ibis bird that accompanied the departed pharaohs to the other world.

But, this does not apply to the scarlet ibis, which lives far from Egypt. His homeland is South America.

Once, I was organizing a photography contest and one of the participants posted a photo of an ibis walking on a beach in Australia.

Sometimes, I think in stereotypes, this is due to the lack of information that I gradually draw on. I'm not an ornithologist, but I like birds. If you thought about fried chicken, then this is from another concept of the word love, of which the ancient Greeks had several. I love fried chickens, but I love watching chickens walking free.

Then, I was really surprised to see an ibis in Australia.

I suggest you look at this scarlet bird, which, in size, like a heron, but weighs less than a chicken, loves nests on a hill and does not pay attention to my curious looks.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
