Feathered art : The Red Cardinal ๐ And a MATCH MY BIRD quick challenge at the end ๐ฆ

Today I present to you the Red Cardinal which will come to enlarge my feathered art collection
and here are some pictures that shows the process of creation on my Ipad
I use the app Procreate, as usual, and start with a rough sketch
Once finished, I made another drawing on a top layer that I then fill in black to have the silhouette of the Cardinal
Now let's the real fun begin with a pastel brush
that I use to fill my black shape with lots of colorful patterns
branch and leaves now ...
Which version gets your preference ? the light or the dark one..๐?
Almost forgot the signature....
Now to the quick challenge like last time with the Bee-eaters... ๐

BEER.I love cardinals they always are magical to me as I grew up with the Russian fairytales with the magical red birds- as for preference they are like real life cardinals the females are pale and the males bright red ...so no preference it's just a boy and a girl
ooh...I had even not thought in term of gender when doing each time a dark and a light version....LoL...was only thinking that the same colors shine differently wether they are on black or on white background, which is the reason why I like to always create the two versions..๐โค๏ธ

My preference is for the dark one. Excellent drawing. Very well done. Cardinals are very common in Canada where I'm from but I haven't seen any here in France yet. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture to share
By virtue of their geographical localisation, it's normal you (and I) have never seen one in France...๐
according to Wikipedia :
it seems that, unlike last time with Bee-Eaters, this week, we europeans will have no pictures of cardinals, except the big travelers ones that could have some shots of this (for us) exotical bird ๐ ๐

Now there is a bird I can join in with. Yours are so beautiful. I would love to look out my window and see them, but the ones I see look like this-

No cardinals where I live, but drawings wise, I prefer the darker one! ๐
