Scaly-Breasted Munia (Lonchura punctulata)

Scaly-breasted munia or also called Spotted Munia (Lonchura punctulata) a songbird species that belongs to native to tropical Asia. The species is named based on its characteristic. It feeds on the grass seed and small insects and they use its capability of communicating with soft call and whistles. For sometimes, I had to wait until they really stayed calm in the tree so I could freely take shots. Scaly-Breasted Munia spread throughout Asia countries.

The scaly-breasted munia or spotted munia (Lonchura punctulata), known in the pet trade as nutmeg mannikin or spice finch, is a sparrow-sized estrildid finch native to tropical Asia. A species of the genus Lonchura, it was formally described and named by Carl Linnaeus in 1758.
