Memories and Rambo Progress on a Meatfree Monday

Last night's meatfree Monday meal was a combination of leftovers, gardenloot (spinach) and a gift from a market mate.

The last were lovely falafel. They're delish with her tzatziki. All served with flatbreads that I had frozen.

A feast. The lentil dahl was served with a 60-year old spoon. It is part of a set given to my mother for her kitchen tea. My parents would have been married 60 years in July.

Rambo spent the evening indoors. Watching the supper preparation before parking himself at The Husband's feet to watch TV.

Huge progress. The entire family of five were watching together. Still spats between the two boys, but we're getting there. Not so much as an attempt at spraying, on Gandalf's part.

We still have a way to go with his learning to use the cat flap.

Until next time, be well

That spoon is 60 years old and still not in retirement, but I'm sure if it was a 6 year old spoon, it may have died a sudden death by now methinks;)
Things were made of much stronger material back then, just like us Silvers!

You are so right! Not all the pieces of that set have survived. Come to think of it, I am not sure whether the set was in tact when I inherited it 21 years ago.

Good morning @fionasfavourites, nice post, the food looks yummy.
I amazed at how things seemed to last so much longer years ago. I have always been a believer of re-purposing , re-cycling and re-using. Seems today, the younger folks just throw out and buy new. I like the challenge of refinishing furniture, repairs to old vases, whatever it is I can do NOT to just dump it out.

Idk, I guess it's just me.

Hope you have a beautiful Sunday.

Nope it's not just you! Our home is full of old stuff. I actually am not too fond of new where the quality is not like we used to be able to get. I'd rather by second hand pieces of furniture and restore, too...

Thanks for stopping by!
