Friday Files: Ten for Maastricht, Sunrise, Soup

Friday kitchen day in pictures. That pretty red sky was a warning: a berg wind howled. All day. The products: koeksisters and sourdough rolls (no pics because you can have too much of a good thing).

The soup of the week: leek and cauliflower. A carb-free vichyssoise, if you will. Finally, another of my best sellers, chicken liver paté. Now made with free range chickens. I am hoping that I have found a source closer to home.

Oh, and an order of 10, yes ten, jars of marmalade was collected. Destined for Maastricht.

No pic of that, but of, to my horror, cobwebs on the little palm that sits on my kitchen counter.

Finally, fishy comfort food.

A happy feline.

PS this is another sneaky contribution to @dswigle's Market Friday initiative.
Until next time, be well

Love the rest of your post (as I always do) but I have to say that picture of Rambo at the end is ALL THE THINGS! Seeing that was just what I needed at the end of today. 😻😻😻😻

Oh yes, and he's happily ensconced on the same chair out of the wind and wet. Becoming a real indoor cat. Lol.

It's your fault that I bought Koeksisters from Woolies yesterday, you should have shown a pic then I may not have succumbed to temptation...but...they were good but not homemade!

I love your sneaky posts! Actually, they are so #MarketFriday, they reek it! ;)) I love leek and potato soup as one of my favorites, but, I have never tried it with cauliflower. Now, I am intrigued. Do you like it better or does it keep better? I have never tried to can potato anything. Can you?

Hurrah for ten marmalades! That is an awesome order. I personally make cases and cases of jams and jellies. But, the family is so big, they are always waiting for me to do it as they know I will be passing them around. What they forget is that the family continues to grow as the needs do. :)) I started giving them to them for Christmas in a big basket. It is more fun that way, for me anyway. :))

Rambo is becoming quite comfy inside, isn't he? Well, that is not a bad thing and he looks like such a lover.

I love chicken liver pate, but, no longer eat organ meat here. I just don't trust it enough, even with the organic farmers. I have been conditioned to cut organ meat out of my diet because many farmers labeled organic are not always. They play with the meaning of it. Hopefully, they tighten up their regulations and organic becomes what it actually is supposed to mean. I am jealous! Looks awesome as usual!

As usual, interesting post!

I want to thank you for taking the time and effort to post in the #MarketFriday challenge. It is wonderful to see new faces and many of the same faces every week. It has been interesting to see the different cultures surrounding this weekly event. Different cultures. I will always be fascinated by it.

I am sure it is a challenge to try to submit something fresh, or different and I understand not wanting to go into crowded spaces. It is outright crazy that #MarketFriday has survived the pandemic. I just think it is the can-do attitude of all the people. Thank you! Through all of this, we have discovered that we have added a new dimension to the tag. As many have been staying closer to home, we have also discovered more and more about each other, and that has been pretty nice. I have to admit, with the platform broken into different communities and tags, we get to see the same people, more or less that join every week, so we get to know each other a little bit. The challenge points out our differences, but, then, it also shows many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. We embrace each other as humans.

This experience is so heartwarming. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in is seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I am so happy to see you here! I hope you have a fabulous day! Hive on!!
