Friday Files: More Bread and Marmalade

It was a cold kitchen day.

So cold, the dough for the rolls and Ursula (mother) having been fed for bread had to prove/grow in the sun.

I knew it work and feeding mother to start another batch of something, two days in a row, was an experiment. In two ways. I'll come back to this.

It was marmalade (surprise!) on the agenda. Again. Along with carrot and ginger soup, vegan aioli (not in the pics) and starting bread. This, last, for a potential new product.

This is the snow at midday. As the marmalade and soup were doing their thing.

Having fed and warmed Ursula, she was ready to contribute two offspring.

To explain: my baker friend was here on Monday, just as I was about to cut the then most recent loaf for lunch. She tasted.

You should make these for the market.

So I did two.

Here they are, just out of the oven. At 6.45 this morning. Not (or too) good for a frosty Saturday morning before the market!

The smell of baked bread...on an empty stomach...

Both sold. One before it even hit my stall and had to be borrowed back for the photo shoot...ahem...

The experiment worked: feeding Mum and starting bread on a Friday to bake on Saturday morning before the market. Even though, technically, I am not awake...

So, next week, I shall do four and see how that goes.

And, again, this is a cheeky, late entry to @dswigle's #marketfriday initiative. Pop over and take a look.

Until next time, be well

I have seen bread of this type in first time in my life so that is very interesting. In our area bread is flat.

That's so interesting! I love it that virtually every culture has some sort of bread and that they are all different. The recipe for the loaves is Italian. I have made it a couple of times and you will see a better picture of it in this post.

Appreciate your stopping by @azamrai.

I was thinking of you yesterday morning when it was chilly here in Durbs and admire you for braving the frosty morning! That bread certainly is looking good, just shows how determined Ursula's offspring are!
