When the cat's away (so to speak...)

On a winter's evening, one dare not leave the sofa unoccupied. If one prefers not to evict a warm body. However, that's not practical and this is what happens while the staff supper's in the making.

Regardless of winter, The Husband still braais which explains the condition of the couch.

It does mean that when it's icy, I prefer to have a hot side instead of, or as well as a salad.

So last evening, with a couple of courgettes and the leftover Passata from the other night, I flung them in a pan, added some garlic and McGregor Herbes de Provence.

The verdict: I will do it again and perhaps even turn it into the hero of a plant-based meal.

Until next time, be well

That couch looks so inviting and cosy, I'd not want to move from there, am a real ninny when it's cold! But the food does look good, especially that braaied meat and the courgettes, just yum!

Kitties are little vibrating space heaters. ^_^ They look very cozy.

I love that your husband braais in all weather. I had a friend from South Africa on fb once tell me that, in the context of a conversation where I said something like, I know I'm not perceived to be very masculine because I sew and knit and things like that and generally people think of those things as feminine, she said, nah, we don't really care about that here, in SA you're masculine as long as you know how to braai. 😂

The Husband is a retired farmer and not technically South African. He love lighting a fire for cooking red meat. He'd do it every night given a chance!

That said, your FB friend is right! lol
