Hive Open Mic 63 : Storyteller, General Review and Highlights

Greetings to all fellow musicians and the audience of Open Mic! During the last week, we could listen to artists that were telling some stories through the music. Stories from real life, fiction stories, fairy tales, legends, love stories and all other kind of them. It is not a surprise, as the theme for the week was Storyteller. It was set by @celticheartbeat, being the spotlight artist two weeks ago.

¡Saludos a todos los compañeros músicos y al público de Open Mic! Durante la semana pasada, pudimos escuchar a artistas que contaban algunas historias a través de la música. Historias de la vida real, historias de ficción, cuentos de hadas, leyendas, historias de amor y otro tipo de historias. No es una sorpresa, ya que el tema de la semana fue Narrador - Storyteller. Fue elegido por @celticheartbeat, siendo el artista destacado hace dos semanas.

For me, a good story represents a set of experiences from the real life shared by a storyteller. It is a gift to be able to tell those tales in an interesting way and bring a lesson to learn through it. I was lucky as I had the opportunity to enjoy those anecdote sharing sessions by several generations in my family. Starting from my great-grandmother and later, the next generation, my grandmothers. They used to share the moments from their childhood and youthful days and I remember that I enjoyed a lot listening to them.

Para mí, una buena historia representa un conjunto de experiencias de la vida real compartidas por un narrador. Es un regalo poder contar esos cuentos de una manera interesante y traer una lección para aprender a través de ellos. Tuve suerte porque tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar de esas sesiones de intercambio de anécdotas de varias generaciones de mi familia. Empezando por mi bisabuela y más tarde, la siguiente generación, mis abuelas. Solían compartir los momentos de su infancia y juventud y recuerdo que disfruté mucho escuchándolos.

During this week I saw that many members of the Hive Open Mic community have that gift, to tell stories freely through music. We will see in this post some of them. Surely, I would like to feature many others, but stay tuned as the admin will make his article tomorrow and include his selection. Also, the spotlight artist of the week will be featured! Looking forward to reading his publication!

In this post, we can enjoy two videos. The first is an animated video from the band Cosmic Butterflies, Cabe's band. How beautiful it is!
In his entry, he is mixing the layers, the animated video as the background and his new cover. The new version is a bit calmer, but still with hopes in that brave spirit. The story of the song is a woman living in beauty and a man living in brilliance and it is another gem of his creativity.

Julio brings here a story that can happen to anyone: break a string on the guitar. But it is important to continue if it happens during a gig... there are some great examples of how musicians solve this problem. The lyric is interesting and funny and the musical part is wrapped into blues style. Good work Julio.

Having memories and being able remembering them and singing about them is great. Stories can be formed around and one day telling them is a nice way to refresh those memories. I appreciate your way of playing the blue guitar and great singing in your language!!
