Bridge repair

I made these few frames "for the story." In order to keep a memory of how the Trade Bridge was being repaired. Recently, I was leafing through the archive of my photographs, and I saw pictures taken there more than ten years ago, these photographs depicted the repair of the bridge over the Fontanka River and the temporary bridge built nearby. If I had not seen these pictures, I would not have remembered that that bridge was being repaired.

The Trade Bridge over the Kryukov Canal was built at the end of the 18th century. The last major overhaul of this bridge was made in 1960-1961. The bridge has a simple three-span construction. Very beautiful lights are installed on the bridge. I hope they will return to the place after the repair work, and I will photograph them to show you.

Temporary wooden bridge is used only by workers for transport and works, for residents it is not available. Residents cross the canal along one of the neighboring bridges. Pictures were taken on the embankment of the Kryukov Canal near the Mariinsky Theater. Ahead is the bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral.
