Amistad y Amor | ¿Opuestos o Complementos?

One of the things that I have been most in life is a romantic and devoted person in all my romantic relationships; ironically they have always ended in quite terrible ways such as infidelities or problems that exceed the limits of patience without having ways to solve or solve them.

Now, there is a strange little pattern that has happened to me during the vast majority of cases in which I have had a partner; I feel that I wanted to talk about that today and I would like to know my readers' point of view about it.

Today I want to talk about friendship in a couple relationship, does it exist or is it lost once you make the leap to the next level? So, let's get started!

All my life I have been told that if you want to be with a person in a sentimental relationship, you cannot meet that person by showing an interest in a friendship, because probably that person would not think that you want to opt to be something more in his life, but I have never understood that advice, because according to my perspective, we should all start having a friendship with people, or am I wrong, that is, I can feel attraction and connection for someone but to throw myself into the void the first time I meet him just for fear of not developing a friendship? I don't think so.

I have been placed in the "friendzone" more than once in my life and according to this advice, it could have been due to the fact that I gave people to understand that I wanted to be their friend only and that I was not looking for something more or did not show liking for that person, however, beyond my actions, I remember being very shy to express my feelings, something that nowadays is the opposite, since honesty is my mantra and lifestyle.

But now, I have realized that, throughout my life and in a very majority way, my sentimental relationships have been full of pure hypocrisy regarding the subject of friendship, since, basically no matter how good a person I have been or how good a partner I have been, I have always ended up under the shadow of hate, except for very punctual cases of some people who were my partners and today are very good friends of mine, of course many times time had to pass for that.

I understand the fact that many times, because of the same pride, the desire to possess and even the same frustration of the loss, humans can be emotionally stupid and destroy all the good things that happened with a person just for whims that have no place when making decisions that lead to serious consequences, but from my perspective, people who do well do not deserve hatred or contempt, but that is the toxicity of human beings when it comes to relationships.

El Peligro de querer mucho | The Danger of Wanting Too Much

I have always thought that it is difficult to be a devoted person, because throughout my life, no matter how devoted I am, how much I prove my worth as a partner, as a person, as a friend, etc, I have always ended up hurt by trust issues, generally they do not trust me, my actions, my words and always ends up everything built in the trash for things that do not even have to do with me.

I feel that love leads me to surrender and as its name says, I am giving up a part of me that goes with the person to whom I decide to give that piece of me as a "whole", then, to overcome is complicated, but not impossible, because something I have learned in my life is that people get what they are looking for because decisions lead to consequences.

I can't erase someone from my life if they don't do something truly terrible enough for me to feel that I must lose my attachment 100%, because I have also reached a point of maturity such that I am not really a possessive person, I know how to let go of people who can be happier without me than with me and I don't like to feel that I am a martyrdom or a kind of emotional competition against which you have to fight day after day for things to flow, I live to love giving, offering and asking for peace, not chaos, if not, that's not it, that's not it.

Being that way has led me to think that people have many problems and that really we are all damaged but there are people who focus on hurting others in the same way they hurt them, creating a vicious circle that leads nowhere; I gave up that circle a long time ago because I have always thought that humans can change because we reflect on the way, the only bad thing is that I have always arrived late to people's lives because generally when I arrive they have already been so damaged that basically they learn to do everything right is by being with me and once everything is over, they make their lives incredible by applying everything I taught them with other people.

Before this fact bothered me but now I feel that it is like an implicit purpose that I have to accept, it is like a role that life has given me and I can't fight against it anymore, just enjoy the time I have with someone about it.

¿Amistad o Amor? | Love or Friendship?

Do you consider that if there is friendship there cannot be love? Because I really think that both pillars are fundamental in a relationship, and, in fact, for me a sentimental relationship is a friendship that has been given a higher level of trust to be able to be intimate and not only talking about sex as such but the fact of being able to involve your family, your friends, show even more your vulnerabilities and so on.

I am a person who does not believe that these two relational "states" have to compete one against the other, as I said in the previous paragraph, I think that from friendship you can get to love and even back because not all the time relationships work, sometimes you have to be mature to let go and know that the time to continue with someone passed, for whatever reason, reason or circumstance in order to avoid resentment.

But it is very likely that relationships do not really end in friendships for the same reason I mentioned in the first paragraphs of this publication, humanity is emotionally stupid and negative emotions generally have more weight than positive ones, so one must accept that fact, live with it and move on.
