These fish seem to me to be fantastic creatures not only for their stunning colors but also for their mating rituals as they are the only species in the world where the male is the one who gets pregnant. The female deposits the eggs in the pouch that the male has in his abdomen and after a week the little fish hatch. Unfortunately, seahorses are in danger of extinction and are scarcely variable for this reason under no circumstances should there be a specimen in an aquarium.
