"The Gift of Love"

diegophPtVN9fACsWUunsplash.jpg

Many different birds flying,
Sharing the freedom that comes
With flight,
But there is only one sky.

None of them own a Particular Spot or
Area in the sky, it is shared by all.
Someone will point out that some birds are more
Predatory and prey on other birds.
Some do have their Own territory, but
That is on the ground, not in the sky.

There are Quite a few different types of humans,
But they are all still Human;
We all share the same
Planet.
It is time that we realize the Earth
Belongs to everyone,
Equally.

We must Not let the
Hope we have as brothers,
Fly out the window like a bird soars
Into the sky.

Let your spirit soar
Instead, free like a bird.
Be the
Blessing that you are to all
That you meet, give of
Yourself; your gift will
Return to you.

This Is the mystery of
Love.
It comes back stronger
Than before.

This is really nice. I have an image of each of us giving hope a home here on earth, not letting it dissipate. How easy it is to abandon hope these days!

Oooo... you just said a mouthful @owasco, I appreciate that. You seem to 'get' me.
I feel as if my writing is very repetitive, saying the same things over and over
Year after year, but when the message is "Hope, Love and Brotherhood"
Can it ever be said too often? Maybe one day it will sink in to the
Rest of the world. My most common 'trope' is that of a
Rippling pool (being each of us) sending out
Waves of love in all directions for all
Mankind, forever.

I like this, but I would tend to disagree and say that all humans are not "human." Like the guy I just tweeted about in Belgium, in a video someone took of the bastard on a train, putting his finger in his mouth and then rubbing it on the train pole.

He is a biological terrorist. I don't believe such scum are "human" at all.

Aye, there are some of those around. We can't let them bring us down to their levels.
They are human, they are just distanced for some reason from their humanity.
Thank you so much for coming by and commenting @free-reign

Aye, we know what we should and shouldn't be doing. That is, some of us know. That kind of wisdom can be found in all people's ancient past and lore. Did everybody follow the creed back then? hardly. If that were the case, there wouldn't be drama in ancient stories.

Still, the more advanced and complex lives we live, the more we forget what's important. Or seem unable to act upon it. Slowing down is a hard thing for the modern mindset.

All valid points @manoldonchev, yet as I just said to another, we can't let this sort of thing remove us from our own awareness of our humanity.
Things won't get better that way.
Thank you so much for the comment @manoldonchev

Best read I had for today as it took my mind off the pandemic that is going on right now. A simple gesture could be a blessing for someone and goes a long way.

I KNOW what you mean, I've sitting here having just gotten out of bed, listening to the local news. They reported that at 1 AM THIS MORNING, the grocery stores were experiencing a "Run on Staples". I cannot believe this is happening here.
I thought we were farther removed, better educated than to let the media generate this level of panic.
I'm just shaking my head. Will I be able to get to my Dr on Monday? That is taking it personally,
And I don't mean to seem selfish. It is just that it is SO UNNECESSARY. The world isn't
Ending... yet. People may be testing positive, but they are not dying in droves.
The flu has a greater fatality rate EVERY YEAR, and people are stupid
About getting vaccines for that, yet here we have something
Less deadly, less pervasive, and there is panic.
Such stupidity, in my humble opinion.
Thank you @watershake101

Beautiful gift you gave me on this day, a beautiful poem that feeds the soul. For me love comes from God.

Good morning @carolinacardoza, thank you for your comment.
Of course love comes from God, but after all:
Matthew 12:30-31 "Jesus replied:

"`Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ' This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it:

`Love your neighbor as yourself.' Upon these two depend all the law and the prophets.

So HE commanded us to love each other. I read a couple of translations that read "Love each other as I(Jesus) have loved you".
So the bottom line and the operative word is LOVE.

Yes @oneray, it IS much more than a gift, it is a joy, an obligation to each other, and
A debt we owe to each other. We need to pay it forward.

Very nice! Hope is, for some people, the only thing that they have left to cling to.

Hi @wwwiebe, so nice to see you. Thank you for the comment and compliment.
Your statement:

"for some people hope is the only thing they have left to cling to"

Is so very unfortunately true, but there is always hope, and we can always bolster that in those around us.
Don't you think?

Thank you so much @fenngen, I really do appreciate that you appreciated my meaning.
And you are so very right, love is apparent, but not real in this world of ours.
This is demonstrated daily in the news and the rages that hit various places
In the world on any given day. People don't know what love really is, so it seems

Keep our eye on nature, to learn a little more. Teach each other to share, look after what we have, leaving enough for all to prosper. Lovely poetry!

Howdy sir Jerry! Beautiful writing and words of wisdom too, love it!
What is going on down there, the government shutting the city down yet?

0

avatar

You'd think so.
Good morning @janton, schools are closed (for the most part) or they will be soon.
All the sports events (or most of them) all the conventions (or most of them) many city government meetings etc etc ...all closed for now.
I haven't been to Kroger, though I need to go get some milk, but according to what I saw on the news from Gwinnett county yesterday, the stores will be devoid of toilet paper (of all the bloody stupidity, that one I just don't understand) and very probably milk.
It's insane

0

0.000
avatar

lol...I agree sir Jerry, milk and toilet paper are the two things you can't live without apparently. lol. Are you going to try and not go anywhere for awhile?

0

avatar

I'm not going to TRY and not go anywhere, I just don't have any real reason to. I have an appointment at the Emory Surgical/Dr's office on Monday. I will go there. I ain't afraid O' no Ghost!
I for one, can live without TP.
Do you remember (I'm sure you do, since that is your area of interest ie "the Old West") A B&W TV Show called Branded?
z0b7ar.png

(Theme lyrics)
♫♪All but one man died, There at Bitter Creek,
And they say he ran away ...
Branded! Marked with a coward's shame.
What do you do when you're branded,
Will you fight for your name?

He was innocent, Not a charge was true,
But the world will never know ...

Branded! Scorned as the one who ran.
What do you do when you're branded,
And you know you're a man?
And wherever you go
for the rest of your life
You must prove ...
You're a man! BRANDED♫♪

So when I was in school, and the show was still running, someone made a parody of part of the song.
♫♪ Stranded! Stranded on the toilet bowl!
What do you do when you're stranded,
And you can't reach the roll?
To prove you're a man you must use your hand...STRANDED!!

So if I run out of TP, I can always use a washcloth or my HAND, then wash whichever item I used.
Milk on the other hand (😜)is something I CAN live without, but would rather not.

lol...howdy today sir Jerry! Yes I sure do remember that classic Western, I liked that one. And that parody is hilarious, you have a great memory! Obviously performances are out for a little while.

Yes, I'm down for the count as far as live performances, for more than one reason.
I hope to be back up and running soon though.
I wish I could claim credit for
The parody, BUTT

Oh man that's a shocking image! lol. I heard a virologist today talking and he thinks it's going to be 3 to 6 months to get through this thing.

I used that image in another comment on another post (this time one of mine) and the guy replied "Hey! There's Justin Sun with his head up his arse" ha ha
Hope it wasn't TOO shocking and especially not offensive to you @janton
I had my surgeon call me yesterday afternoon (I had an appointment to return today for a post op) to cancel that appointment.
He said that just Sat night, Emory had two deaths at two different facilities (in Atl)
Those were not (not even now) reported in the local news.
So are they not really reporting the deaths?

0

avatar

Howdy today sir Jerry! Oh now that image wasn't offensive, just shocking in a funny way!
Wow, yeah about those two deaths...well if they just started testing people then they probably have no idea how many are infected and they might want to keep the death toll down so people don't panic.

It's too late for that I'm afraid.
Not me, but this is me:
I saw someone say that people who have anxiety/depression aren’t panicking like everyone else is, we’re not out here buying 10+ rolls of tp and such, do you know why?
This is our normal state.
To us the world is ending, every .single. day.
And it’s interesting, watching everyone act the way our brains think on a daily basis.
It sucks doesn’t it?
To be in this constant state of fear and helplessness.
To feel the impending doom, but feel absolutely powerless about it.
Welcome to our world.
This is our every day.
Sincerely
Everyone with severe anxiety/depression.

Oh that is very interesting to see your view of everyday life. So this is no big deal because every day is doomsday! wow. You finally have an advantage on the rest of society in a way because other people are all freaked out!

That was someone else' post, but it resonated with me deeply.
I edited it to include the depression part, but otherwise,
that is the well from the bottom of which I look up,
struggling towards the light.

Hey! I may have to use that in a new writing.
Good night Jon boy @janton

Contradiction is very deep within us, we only can make balance between the inner self and everything that surrounds us and live through a path of well made choices. Animals have no ego they live, kill and die keeping the balance of nature, no moral considerations in all of that.
Yo have shared a beautiful poem to make us reflect in our own existence in this time and space!!
Many hugs and good vibes for you my dear friend @JerryTsuseer, much love and joy for everyday!!
