Since the covid-19 pandemic took hold of the world society there has been no letting up when we thought we were in the clear it, just come back with more vengeance, forcing more people into stress and suicidal positions. Like every other country on this planet and still ongoing many people have had no choice but to abandon there businesses causing huge unemployment levels. Thailand the once thriving country with millions of tourist from all around the world visiting this country has come to a stand still.

Due to no tourist not been allowed into the country now for nearly 2 years business owners not only from entertainment venues but right down the chain has been a domino effect all industries like restaurants, clothing, transport and the list goes on. The Pit Bull Beer Pub, use to be one of my favorite drinking holes with great live music and beautiful friendly staff, so sad to see this venue abandon. No customers, no sales can't pay rent or staff forced to abandon and this is only one of thousands you see as you walk the streets of Pattaya, Thailand.

The Sansibar next door connected to the Pitt Bull was just like one big family home everyone that use to come here knew each other like a tight community, also abandon, not only effecting business owners but effecting the Thai people drastically with very little or no help from the government, large numbers of the working society have been forced to reside back to their home villages living on the little income from there farms by growing rice and vegetables.

I remember this particular street like many other street around Pattaya use to be 24/7 full of great vibes you would finish up a drinking session with the boys and if you were hungry, you would just pop out onto the street and you had the choice of Thai, Western or European foods, the street was full of multi cultures foods and people a fun lively street and if you just wanted to sit at a street vendor stores here you would get some of the best stick foods, noddle soups and authentic Thai dishes from the Thai vendors.

Walking down this street the other day was really heartbreaking, it was that quite and deserted you could hear a pin dropping to the ground. It really makes me wonder why this has had to happen and will it ever recover. Shops, bars, restaurants and clothing stores in this whole street have just been stripped by the owners, they have taken what they can salvage to sell and moved on. No tourist no money basically the way it is over here at the moment and I would imagine with many other countries.

When you see 7 Eleven shops close doors and abandon them, that is serious stuff and many of them have done just that here around Pattaya. Let's hope we can see the good old days com back again in the near future but I will say it will never be the same again and we are going to see many more abandoned places around the globe unfortunately.

If many businesses had to close by force. I would have had a drink at sansibar. Black and white photos look great.
