Hello everyone!!! I've started a new community today and I hope you check it out and join ^_^
Pixelart Community

You can only post your original work! Other forms of Pixelart are welcome- for example- perler beads, but only make original creations, you can't use other artists' art for reference. Voxel art and similar styles are allowed, I hope there is will be another community for it eventually.

If you use a filter to autopixelate your photos or art, you still have to do additional drawing on top, at very least to clean up rogue pixels.

You can post about pixelart programs and tutorials on how to use them.

I'll try posting at least one pixelart weekly, feel free to request tutorials. If you're impatient you can check out couple of my (commissioned) tutorials that I wrote:

I'll announce the first pixelart contest in a couple days, so stay tuned. Sponsors for a bigger reward pool would much be appreciated ^_^

The reward pool will be the post's full payout number paid in Hive. I've seen others do it this way and it's neat.

Awesome to see this niche community come to life and we'll be supporting it with OCD to help get it more traction. Pixelart used to be quite popular back in the day so I'm sure it will do well. :)

Yay you did it! I did see a post where you wre wondering and I really wanted to encourage you to do it but don't think I got around to actually doing so as I've been pretty busy and thus rubbish at commenting the past couple of days x_x

I'm still trying to get my sibling to post, used the existence of this community as added bait ;D

Awww thank you ^^ @Acidyo was very encouraging and having OCD support is huge.
I kept switching my mind between do it or not, but I couldn't get it out of my head so I did it :D

Congrats on having set-up the new community! I don't think I've enough talent to make great artwork just yet, but if there's one art-style that I most adore - it's pixel art. There's so much fun and its amazing to see how much depth you can get from pixelated graphics, sometimes better than realistic renderings, IMO. I've said if before, but with so many talented artists posting their creations here on Hive, we'll probably become just as big as DeviantArt in no time :-D

Pixelart is really great for anyone learning art in general, and everything you learn you can apply to different art mediums.

Cheers. Kirokaze... That's the name, I nearly forgot. I've seen some of their work, including others on Behance. Really amazing illustrations, and yours is equally awesome! I do think that if I'm going into learning digital drawing, Pixelart is definitely a great place for me to start :-D

Very cool, Kristy! I don't see many people doing that kind of artwork in this platform, though... There was a guy who was pretty good at it but unfortunately he is lost in the SteemLand. He never made it into the Hive. 🙄

I think you'll need to do some active recruiting...

This is a very good initiative! I just started Photoshop and I think it's great, but I have a lot to learn. I'll check out your tutorials to see what new I can learn! 👍
