Unorthodox - First Impressions (ENG - ITA)

Netflix is booming with new titles.
In this quarantine period it is occupying our time like never before.
So it happens to tune into titles we never imagined we'd see before today.
It's the case of Unorthodox, a TV series that goes almost unnoticed within the huge netflix catalogue but that is actually one of those series, or rather miniseries, to give a chance.
They are only 4 episodes, which allows you to devote, especially in these times, 3-4 hours to a product without particular problems.
At the vision of the first episode you are a bit lost, confused.
The feeling is not to have seen an unforgettable TV series but to be in front of a potentially powerful product.
Difficult to frame it in some particular genre or send it back to past examples.
Difficult to describe it but the feeling is that in the long run it can give some strong emotions.
We are in the Yddish community of New York and the focus is on a young woman who wants to escape from chauvinism, the closure of that world, made of pre-established marriages and a very strong family life.
The direction is Germany.
The goal is freedom, rebirth, but not only.
We are left with the curiosity to see how it will end, but also with the certainty that something more universal, something deeper will be told in the course of the 4 episodes.

Netflix sta abbondando di nuovi titoli.
In questo periodo di quarantena sta occupando il nostro tempo come mai prima.
Capita cosi di sintonizzarsi su titoli che magari non avremmo mai immaginato di vedere prima di oggi.
E' il caso di Unorthodox una serie tv che passa quasi inosservata all'interno dell'enorme catalogo netflix ma che di fatto è una di quelle serie, anzi miniserie, a cui dare una chance.
Son solo 4 episodi, cosa che consente di dedicare, di questi tempi specialmente, 3-4 ore ad un prodotto senza particolari problemi.
Alla visione del primo episodio si resta un pò spaesati, confusi.
La sensazione è di non aver assistito ad una serie tv indimenticabile ma di essere comunque di fronte ad un prodotto potenzialmente potentissimo.
Difficile incasellarlo in qualche genere particolare o rimandarlo ad esempi passati.
Difficile descriverlo ma la sensazione è che alla lunga possa regalare qualche emozione forte.
Siamo nella comunità yddish di New York ed il focus è su una giovane donna che vuole scappare dal maschilismo, la chiusura di quel mondo, fatto di matrimoni prestabiliti e una vita familiare fortissima.
La direzione è la Germania.
L'obiettivo la libertà, la rinascita, ma non solo.
Ci resta la curiosità di vedere come andrà a finire ma anche la certezza che qualcosa di più universale, di più profondo sarà raccontato nel corso dei 4 episodi.
