Hey guys, what's up?
My history with mechanics begins when I was a kid. The simple fact that my father always owned cars and trucks, even worked for oil companies, make mechanics a big part of my life.
My father has always been a truck, trailer and heavy equipment driver, something he is very good at and has a talent for.
My father was not raised by his father, he was raised by a man who taught him how to drive and about mechanics, my father always showed interest in learning.
Knowing all this, my father, since we were kids, involved my brother and me in this world as well. When he would come back from his trips, we would do maintenance on the trucks. At the beginning I was in charge of washing them, then I learned to do maintenance, greasing, oil and filter changes.
As I got older, I got a little more involved, I passed the wrenches, I knew how to recognize them and I practiced more on it. This wasn't a weekly thing, it was more of a regular, daily thing that became our lifestyle.

Hola, chicos ¿Qué tal?
Mi historía con la mecánica, comienza desde que estaba muy niño. El simple hecho de que mi padre siempre tuviera carros y al ser dueño de camiones, que incluso trabajaban para compañías petroleras, hacen de la mecánica gran parte de mi vida.
Mi padre siempre ha sido chófer de camiones, góndolas (trailers) y maquinaría pesada, cosa que sabe hacer muy bien y para la cual tiene talento.
A mi padre no lo crió su papá, lo crió un señor que le enseñó a manejar y sobre la mecánica, mi papá siempre mostró el interés por aprender.
Sabiendo todo esto mi padre, desde niños a mi hermano y a mi nos involucró también en este mundo. Cuando el llegaba de viaje le haciamos mantenimiento a los camiones. Al inicio me encargaba de lavarlos, luego fui aprendiendo a hacer mantenimiento, engrasarlos, hacerles cambio de aceite y de filtro.
A medida que fui creciendo, me involucre un poco más, ya pasaba las llaves, las sabia reconocer y practicaba más sobre ello. Esto no era algo semanal, era algo más habitual, algo diario, que se convirtió en nuestro estilo de vida.

Years went by and I started to learn about mechanics and driving, in this case in trucks. I worked in the workshop when I didn't have to study.
At the age of 9 years old my dad taught me how to park a truck, at the age of 12 he taught me how to drive a Codiac Chevrolet truck and that was my first beginnings with driving.
My brother, on the other hand, was more interested in driving, however I went to the mechanical part and manufacturing of parts, I also dedicated myself to welding, the latter I learned with a maternal uncle.

Fueron pasando los años y comencé a aprender sobre mecánica y manejar, en este caso en camiones. Trabajaba en el taller cuando no tenia que estudiar.
A la edad de 9años mi papá me enseñó a estacionar un camión, a los 12 años me enseñó a manejar un camión Codiac Chevrolet y allí fueron mis primeros comienzos con el manejo.
Mi hermano, por otra parte se interesó más en manejar, sin embargo yo me fui a la parte mecánica y fabricación de pieza, también me dedique a la soldadura, este último lo aprendí con un tío materno.

I learned to drive all kinds of vehicles, but I like more the mechanics and manufacturing, I was in charge of fixing all the trucks and cars we had at home.
I practiced welding at the age of 11 to 12 years old, I would stand next to my uncle and while he welded his pieces, I would stand next to him with my equipment and I would imitate what he was doing, with pieces of metal that were lying around, he would teach me to graduate the welding machine and measure the amperage, that's how I was learning.
I like to repair things, invent and manufacture others, my whole life is related to mechanics. My beginnings were with the heavy load, although I also know about small car mechanics.
I'm sorry I don't have pictures, since I'm a migrant and the pictures are at my parents' house, which is almost abandoned, since they moved to another city. I hope I can get them to send me some and show you pictures in another publication.

Aprendí a manejar todo tipo de vehículos, pero me gusta más la mecánica y la fabricación, era el encargado de arreglar todos los camiones y carros que tuvimos en casa.
Practique la soldadura a la edad de 11 a 12 años, me ponía al lado de mi tío y mientras el soldaba sus piezas, yo me ponía a su lado con mi equipo e iba imitando lo que él hacia, con piezas de metal que habían tirados por allí, el me enseñaba a graduar la maquina de soldadura y medir el amperaje, así fui aprendiendo.
Me gusta reparar cosas, inventar y fabricar otras, mi vida entera está relacionada con la mecánica. Mis inicios fueron con la carga pesada, aunque también sé de mecánica de carros pequeños.
Lamento no tener fotos, ya que soy migrantes y las fotos están en casa de mis padres, la cual está casi abandonada, ya que ellos se mudaron a otra ciudad. Espero poder lograr que me envien algunas y mostrarles fotos en otra publicación.

I thank everyone for the acceptance of this community of Hive Motors and also encourage you to write your stories in it. My participation does not compete for prizes, since I am the host, but I wanted to tell you part of my story.
Together with my wife, we are working hard to move forward this project, which was born in Hive for all of you.

Una historia emotiva llena de calor y enseñanza familiar. Que bonito que desde la figura de tu padre y tu tío, pusiste iniciar este camino que si bien es exigente, seguro es de satisfacciones cuando ves un trabajo concluido y en funcionamiento pleno.
