Life is a road of experiences, and life with a car even more, especially when we acquire a used one, because we do not know in what condition it comes, even if who sells it to us has done it in the best way.
As we say here in Venezuela, if it is about telling bad experiences with the mechanics in the cars, "That's what I have a roll", in fact, since I acquired my first car (a Matiz), one of my priorities has been to find a good mechanic, well, I have come across all kinds of them: irresponsible, mediocre, dishonest, and sincerely few that are good.
Currently I have a Ford Ka, and making an analysis of the purchase of this and the previous one, perhaps one of the problems I have had has been in the choice of the car to buy. To give an example I will refer precisely to the one I currently have, and my first story with it.

Como decimos aquí en Venezuela, si es sobre contar malas experiencias con la mecánica en los carros, "De eso tengo yo un rollo", de hecho, desde que adquiri mi primer carro (un matiz), una de mis prioridades ha sido dar con un buen mecánico, pues, me he topado con toda clase de ellos: irresponsables, mediocres, deshonestos, y sinceramente pocos que sean buenos.
Actualmente tengo un Ford Ka, y haciendo un análisis de la compra de éste y del anterior, quizá uno de los problemas que he tenido ha estado en la elección del carro a comprar. Por poner un ejemplo me referiré precisamente al que tengo actualmente, y mi primera historia con él.
When I was looking for my new vehicle, I entrusted its finding to a person I did not know but who was very close and trusted by a friend. Actually, this was the first mistake, because, no matter how good a person is, the best thing to do is to verify the condition of the vehicle that is going to be for personal use.
Supposedly the car came with air conditioning, well, it was delivered to me without it; with new oil, I had to change it a week later; with tires in good condition, I had to make an investment to acquire new ones, and many other problems that have been manifesting over time, such as a small blow (but important for the mechanics) in the front wheel of the passenger.
All this was a headache for me, but I learned that every detail, no matter how small, is important to keep the car in the best possible condition.
Estando en la búsqueda de mi nuevo vehículo, confié su hallazgo a una persona que no conocía pero que era muy allegada y de confianza de un amigo. En realidad, aquí estuvo el primer error, pues, por muy buena que sea una persona, lo mejor es uno mismo verificar el estado de vehículo que va a ser de uso personal.
Supuestamente el carro venia con aire acondicionado, pues, me lo entregaron sin él; con aceite nuevo, a la semana tuve que cambiarselo; con cauchos en buen estado, tuve que hacer una inversión para adquirir unos nuevos, y otros tantos problemas que se han ido manifestando en el tiempo, como que resivio un pequeño golpe (pero importante para la mecánica) en la rueda delantera del copiloto.
Todo esto fue un dolor de cabeza para mí, pero aprendí que todo detalle, por mínimo que sea, es importante para mantener el carro en las mejores condiciones posibles.
My first experience with the Ford Ka did not end here, because, a few days later I had an accident due to problems with the timing chain, which turned out to be the skids, and the mechanic I took it to told me not to worry, that he had repaired them.
Since at that time I was ignorant about the mechanics of these parts, I trusted him, and a few days later I had another accident. I took it to a new mechanic (the one I am currently with) and he told me that the skids were glued with tank glue and that is a very important part to do that, and that the best thing to do was to buy new ones. So I did, and that's how I was able to solve that problem until today.
Although these bad mechanical experiences I had are regrettable, I have been able to learn lessons for me, which have made me learn in a negative way, that's why I talk about the "good from the bad".
Mi primera experiencia con el Ford Ka no terminó aquí, pues, a los días me quedé accidentado por problemas con la cadena de tiempo, resultaron ser los patines, y el mecánico al que se lo llevé me dijo no me preocupara, que los había reparado.
Como en ese entonces era ignorante sobre la mecánica de esas piezas me confié, y a los días me volví a quedar accidentado. Lo llevo, entonces, a un nuevo mecánico (que es con el que estoy actualmente) y me dice que los patines estaban era pegados con pega tanque y esa es una pieza muy importante para hacerle eso, que lo mejor era comprarlos nuevos. Así lo hice, y fue como pude solucionar ese problema hasta el día de hoy.
Aunque son lamentables esas malas experiencias mecánicas que tuve, he podido sacar enseñanzas y lecciones para mí, que me han hecho aprender por vía negativa, por eso hablo de lo "bueno de lo malo".
