So let's begin. Football celebration starts today - EURO 2020 is here!

Football fans are struggling. Or better to say, were struggling. Until today! Euro was postponed by one year from 2020 to 2021. So the waiting for the big tournament wasn't 2 years - from the last World Cup - but 3 years!

I hope you are so excited as I am, but the Covid-19 pandemic tournament can begin. With face masks, PCR tests, certifications of vaccination, restriction of attendance in most places.......

But who cares! Football (or my US friends would like to hear "soccer") is finally here and we can see 24 teams (the most ever) in 11 countries (the most ever).

Some might argue, that it's too much. 24 teams, so even smaller countries like Scotland or North Macedonia can play on this big event. But it's as it is. Maybe it will even bring more diversity in football styles.

Some others might argue that the traditional type of Euro organized in 1-2 countries only has its own magic. The country itself lives with it, many people from different countries travel into this place and enjoy it for a quite bit. This version of Euro is like a Euroweekend trip with an overnight stay just for a match by plane... Me personally - I like the "old style" more. But let's test it and decide then.

So today, Italy will start the tournament with the match against Turkey. A better team will win (hopefully), so let's see.
