Manchester United hosted Granada hoping to finish up the job they did in the first leg and they did that again in the second leg in an emphatic fashion. They proved to be too good for Granada and the dream adventure for Granada came to an end.

De Gea started in goal with Pogba captaining the side on the night. Maguire, McTominay and Shaw were all missing through suspension and Pogba had to also come off for second half to avoid being suspended according to the explanation of the coach.

Cavani tried to play Greenwood so early on in the game but the pass wasn't as precise and short as it should have been. The goalkeeper came out and easily gathered it. Not long after that in the 6th minute, Cavani blazed a brilliant effort into the back of the net to give United the lead and a healthy aggregate cushion. A brilliant cross came in and Pogba tried to have it under control while heading it into the path of Cavani who wastes no time and hit a half volley that found its way into the back of the net. It was brilliant from the Uruguayan striker.

Granada also had a brilliant chance to draw themselves level when a brilliant delivery into the box was headed just wide. De Gea stayed rooted on the spot and wouldn't have saved it. It was brilliant but the angle wasn't just right. Granada did everything just to draw level but it wasn't just enough.

In the 20th minute, Granada missed another lovely header that should have found the back of the net but it went marginally off the post. They had a fight in them but it wasn't just going right for them on the day.

United had a chance of theirs too but Fernandes was the culprit of failing to bury two lovely chances even though they were from an impossible angle but on his days, Fernandes would have threatened the goalkeeper more than he did, especially in the 34th minute and 38th minute. Greenwood was trying to produce a curling effort in the 43rd minute only for his effort to go agonizingly wide.

The half time ended and United went ahead on the break. The second half started and United went on the front foot. They had a chance in the 47th minute when Van De Beek found Greenwood in the box while being alone with the goalkeeper but he directed his header straight at the goalkeeper rather than steer it clear off him. It was a shocking effort from him.

Granada tried to restore parity again in the 49th minute but the header didn't threaten De Gea as much as he would have liked. Van De Beek also had his own chance after Greenwood was unable to get to the ball. His snap shot missed the goal by a tiny fraction. What a goal it would have meant for him especially his confidence.

Granada should have drawn level on so many occasions if only they were more clinical and confident on the ball. They had better chances but when you don't take such chances against United, you would be punished. This happened in the 90th minute when Telles' brilliant delivery that was meant for Mata was bundled home by Vallejo to make it 2-0 and 4-0 on the aggregate to set up another mouth watering encounter with another Italian counterpart; Roma.
