Devastating Chelsea.

Crystal Palace hosted the in-form Chelsea hoping to get something out of the game. Chelsea played with determination so they can stay ahead in the race to the top 4, seeing Liverpool won late at Villa.

Chelsea got off on the mark in the 9th minute when Havertz brilliantly curled his low effort into the far corner of the net to register the first goal of the day.

Two minutes after, Chelsea got the second goal in quick succession when Pulisic scored expertly from a tight angle after the move was orchestrated by Ben Chilwell.

In the 31st minute, Zuoma added insult to the injury when he rose higher to head home a brilliant delivery into the box from a corner kick to make it 3-0.

Crystal Palace hoped to reduce the deficit in the 32nd minute when Ayew was played through. He tried to square the ball but it was blocked off. Shortly after, Mount found Odoi who gave a return pass to him but his shot was saved for a corner kick. Zouma almost got a second and the ball fell to Chilwell but the former Chelsea man; Cahill blocked it off for another corner kick. The resulting corner caused another threat for Palace and Rudiger got on the end of it but Van Aanholt headed the ball off the line.

The first half ended with the first half blitz from Chelsea as they raced into half time with a resounding 3 goals lead.

Chelsea totally dominated this match and they had brilliant chances to extend their lead further but nothing came out of it. The whole team played at their best and Havert with Pulisic showed how good they are on this away game. It was a beautiful game by Chelsea in their quest for a top 4 finish.

Benteke got his 7th goal in 9 games against Chelsea in the 63rd minute when the substitute; Schlupp got a ball from Zaha at the side of the box. He expertly delivered the ball into the box and Benteke met the ball with force and precision to make it 3-1.

Havertz had the time and chance to get Chelsea's 4th but his shot was easily saved by the goalkeeper and in the 72nd minute as well, Mount received a long ball as he charged towards the box and his shot was expertly blocked off by the defender. At this point, Chelsea wanted to kill off any idea of a comeback for Crystal Palace.

In the 78th minute, Chelsea killed every hope of a comeback when Reece James crossed a low ball across the face of the post. The ball found Pulisic who wasted no time in blasting it into the back of the net to make it 4-1. What a performance.

In the 87th minute, Havertz should have gotten his second and Chelsea's 5th when Ziyech played him in. He timed his run very well but his shot was not threatening as it should have, especially from that kind of range.

The game ended with a comprehensive victory for Chelsea and they displaced Liverpool who were temporarily in 4th place. The race for the top 4 continues...
