Today marks an important day for all the Cricket Sports lovers all around the world as the World's Richest Cricket League, the rescheduled Indian Premier League T20 Cricket starts today in Middle East country of United Arab Emirates with 3 cities hosting the matches for the 8 different teams participating.

I would like to bring out a blog everyday with details of the match happens on that day to bring back those memories of older versions of IPL since we Indians will be missing the direct watch.

We may recollect that the IPL got rescheduled from it's usual schedule to happen in the months of March and April to now due to Corona CoVid 19 Pandemic and also to the note the change in host country.

What makes this rescheduled IPL so special?

Well, IPL is happening outside India for the Second time in the 13 years of IPL history with Second edition in 2009 happening in South Africa.
IPL is being watched thru Television only this year since the Pandemic Corona CoVid has restricted the access to grounds to spectators and it will be a bit boring for players for them not cheered by people surrounding them, but we should be thankful to Board of Control for Cricket in India making it happen amid all the speculations of not conducting the IPL at all this year.

Some highlights of Indian Premier League:

  • It's the Richest T20 league in the World.
  • Most attended Cricket League in the World.
  • The brand value of IPL was INR 475 billion (US$ 6.7 billion) in 2019.
  • In 2010, IPL became the first sports to be broadcast live on YouTube.
  • IPL will be played for the first time without any spectators at the ground due to Corona CoVid 19 Pandemic

Their team looks more balanced with inclusion of few more all-rounders in Marcus Stoinis and Chris Woakes and should perform better than last year.

Rajasthan Royals released as many as 7 players before the auction and bid for many good names but lost out few with other teams also competing with them. RR finally brought some old horses like Robin Uthappa, David Miller, Jaydev Unadkat, Jaydev Unadkat which also includes some new players like Oshane Thomas, Tom Curran, Kartik Tyagi, Akash Singh, Anuj Rawat, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Anirudha Joshi.

8. Kings XI Punjab:

Kings XI Punjab purchase few more good players to strengthen their already strong squad. It's just that, the team faltered in some pressure games last year, but it's a mix of young and experienced players and should do well as their spin squad is one of the good ones.
They added players like James Neesham, Sheldon Cottrell, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Jordan and some young players like Ravi Bishnoi, Ishan Porel, Deepak Hooda, Tajinder Dhillon and Prabhsimran Singh.

Here is Punjab's complete squad:

That list of players makes it an interesting IPL for us spectators albeit no spectators at grounds to cheer players.
In about an hour, we will witness the first match of this year's IPL between Chennai and Mumbai and that should be a fitting one to start the IPL and I will be back with the details of that match later today or latest by tomorrow.

Until then, good evening/good morning to you and have a Wonderful Day :)

So am I my friend.

I hope you got a chance to look into just concluded inaugural match.

It was a great opening match to shake off those doubts over IPL getting started this year.

MS proved once again why he is called Captain cool with his decision to send Sam Curran ahead of himself to thwack those much needed Fours and Sixes to bring down the asking rate and that little cameo proved to be match winning for CSK!!!!

Being an RCB fan, I look forward to their First match against Sunrisers Hyderabad day after tomorrow.

Nice to know you as another Cricket fan on Hive!! Just followed you :)
