Good morning Hannes,

Hahaha, you must have great memories of the times.
Mine are only burning bums, as we got up to all kinds of mischief.
I have shared a few before, bur are now racing against the time as the loadshedding is back from yesterday.

Cheers and thanks!

There are many good memories, of course, but also bad ones - these are the ones which are stored in a not often visited room in my brain.

Good afternoon Zac, I hope your loadshedding was short and didn't cause problems.

Right, we are back my friend, did my 2 posts, took the sunset photos outside and now back on the replies.

Amazing how at times occasions pop up that reminds one of one or another bad thing during childhood 🤣

We have learned since 2018 how to survive the power cuts, but it plays havoc with our finances.
I like to buy bulk food that last the two of us for a month, but with the daily power cuts the meat in the freezer goes off. So we rather buy fresh every day, or as close to fresh as we can get and that is rather costly. Things have become terribly expensive as everyone wants to make up for their losses during the recent year long lockdown.
You know what I will say here 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, my friend, such is life, but it wouldn't need to be that way.
We have a saying "Der Fisch beginnt am Kopf zu stinken" and found this English version "the rot starts at top". If the ones who make the big money would step back and give some to the ones below, and if these would do the same... it wouldn't stink that much, but I guess it's much too late.

Good morning Hannes,

We are running around between the powercuts again.
The rot indeed starts at the top, but it has been like that for centuries. The amazing thing is that people refuse to learn from history as so many mighty empires have fallen. Many kings and millionairs have fallen, many world leaders have fallen and even many countries have lost all of their riches.

Yet the human vultures will continue to stuff their hidden vaults and sly bank accounts.

You are correct as it is way too late and we have reached the point of no return.
Only God can fix these things and it is never a pleasurable fix.

Cheers and thanks!

Good morning Zac,

this is why nothing will ever change - people don't learn and people are greedy. You might be the best boy until you smell the smell of power and money ... there are exceptions, of course, but they have no chance against the others.

I hope you're having a nice Sunday and a great week ahead, my friend 🔆

Good morning Hannes,

Until we learn the dangers about continously chasing after money, as invariably health suffers and when the body starts to take its revenge it will cost us fortunes to try and fix it.
They say that money cannot buy true love, but they forgot to say that money cannot buy everlasting health either.

So, we can live with a million in the bank and a sour face, or with an apple in the hand and a smiling face.

I hope that you guys are now nearing the end of your incarceration and that your life can start again my friend.
My peace I give unto you and yours.

Cheers and thanks.

Good morning Zac 🙂

well, I can tell you that even if I had a million on my bank account, I would smile all day long 😁

Today is my last day in quarantine and if my wife's test today is like mine from Friday, she's released from quarantine too, but we will get the result not before Wednesday. We will stay in home office for the rest of the week though.

Wishing you a wonderful week my friend 😊🌞

Good morning Hannes,

Hahaha, yes, a million would help a lot, but nowadays with the rising prices it might not be enough as they say here that people should aim for the 3 million mark.

The thing that gets my goat is that the good houses here start to sell at 4 million and goes up beyond the 20 million mark. There are many of them and I can just not fatheom how people can afford that.
Even the 1 or 2 million priced cars that they drive.

So, one person drives a very expensive car and another person cannot buy a slice of bread?
Something very wrong here with democracy my friend.

Yes, it would be wise to stay in home office for as long as you can to prevent a re-infection.
Have they ever traced where Tim was infected?

Cheers and thanks!

Good day Zac,

I'm talking of Euros 😉
But you are right, something's wrong, has been wrong for a long time ... money goes to money.

Hi Hannes,

Yes, I know that you are talking in Euros, but the basic principle remains the same.
The rich gets richer and the poor continous to suffer.

Great that they have all remained friends and realize that anyone can get that virus.
Janton told me this morning the he is on your case and I am grateful 😄

Good morning Zac,

of course you are right - the principle remains the same, but you were talking about millions for a house and that has confused me - for millions you can buy a castle here ;)

Good morning Hannes,

The current exchange rate of our ZAR is ZAR 17:53 = 1 Euro
I read this morning that new rich migrants from up north in our country moving here pays up to ZAR 80,000 PER MONTH FOR RENT. Sorry for the capitals but I am shocked.

One month's rent for them is my full year's salary.

Between the two of us, I hope that Janton will start to post again and glad that he is at least now chatting to us. I am also waiting to hear from JJ, so yeah all is well.

Cheers and thanks.

Good afternoon Hannes,

We had computer training on the new Papillon Wordpress website for most of the day and I have already forgotten half of what I learned 🤣

Any case, have a look at it thus far and I will hopefully soon complete the "Gallery" page and make it live.
https://papillonfoundation.com

A lot of work still to be done, but the basics are done methinks.

Nah, I don't think that Janton will be back anytime soon and JJ said that Lulu is slowly improving.
So yeah, a happy Friday to you mate.

Cheers and thanks!

I have had a quite busy Friday, so I say good evening Zac 😄

After a busy day in the home office my wife and I have been cleaning some of our drawers - I can tell you that I have so much space for my things now ... and I have much less things left to store too 😃
It was hard to throw some things away, but I haven't used these for years and they only needed space.

There's always something to do on a website and yours looks nice and promising ☺️

I am also taking a break from the Hive somehow. Don't know when I will make my next post, but I'll be back, just as the J's will be back one day 😁

Hope you will have a wonderful weekend my friend 🌞

Good morning Hannes,

Always hurts when one has to dump a treasured thing that one has not used for years.
I still cling to a "few" things here, but will just have to let go. It is also so amazing when one all of a sudden finds so much more open spaces and to me it feels like cleaning my soul.
But soon it becomes cluttered again 🤣

Sad news that I will be losing you as well now, as you have also become a reasured friend.
But obviously you have your reasons and I respect that.
If I am not mistaken, your name also starts with a J and so it will be three missing Js.

Just take care and look after yourself my friend.

Cheers and thanks.

Ps. Oh and please let me know occasionally how things are with you.

Good morning Zac,

in fact, there's only one old t-shirt which I don't throw away. It's like your sandals - old and broken with many holes but I love it, maybe only because my wife hates it 🤣

You don't lose the third J, my friend, I will still be here every day. I'm just not motivated to post and my votes are automated. So please don't mind if I miss a post and if I don't comment ... I will be back and the other J's will be back one day too, and you belong to the important people in my life ☺️

We are all fine, but my wife is still waiting for her last results, because she has to stay at home until they release her.

Good morning Hannes,

The real thing about my sandals is that I hate to walk new shoes in. They are tight things that takes years to fit like a glove. Not the Chinese things as they break in 3 months, but real handmade sandals are tough to tame.
And yes, they have sentimental value just like the Tshirt that you spite your wife with. She is just an honest person and that's why your Tshirt has not magically disappeared hahahah.

So now you have become an automated bot???
I saw the votes with no replies and it puzzled me, as I thought that you were too busy to reply.
You have become family and I respect your decision, but I will miss the chats. So be it!

Let's hope that they release your wife soon, as you have some rides that will arrive soon.

Cheers and thanks.

Good morning Zac,

I think I have told you about the hiking boots which I have had for over 30 years I believe. If they wouldn't have hurt my feet during each hike I would still have them. The new ones I have bought are still not fitting right.

There was a day when I saw the T-shirt on a pile of old torn clothing which my wife wanted to throw away - I could save it in the last second :)))

I still look through the posts and if I see one that has not been upvoted I do it by hand. I have set the bot to not upvote if my voting power is below 83%, so I still have a few votes which I do manually.
I believe, my motivation will come back when the first Spring flowers grow, or at least when I go for my first ride after the Winter break :)

My wife will stay at home tomorrow and wait for a call - she doesn't feel ill at all anymore, so I believe that her latest test will be good enough to release her from the quarantine.

I do hope you're having a wonderful Sunday, my friend 🔆

Good morning Hannes,

Yes, you did tell me about the old hiking boots and the new boots are going to take a long time before they fit correctly my friend.
Oops, that old Tshirt had a narrow escape and luckily it is safe now again 🤣

Sounds like you have a good system to stay on top until your energy levels rise again.
Could the low energy levels have resulted from the Covid, or has it compounded over time?
Reason I am asking is that both of us here are also very low on energy.

Sounds like your wife is now clear we hope Hannes.

Cheers and thanks.

I love that T-Shirt although I don't think I will ever wear it in public again - just had a look at it the other day and it looks really terrible holey, but I still love it :)

I think that we have just been working too much during the past months and then we've got the virus, didn't know how it will affect us... and we are working for the government, we are always tired, that belongs to our job 🤣
It really was to me and also to my family just like a flu, and if we hadn't lost the ability to smell, I wouldn't have believed we had got the virus.

I do believe that the next call will release my wife from quarantine - she feels good and wants to go to work ... I can't understand that though 😊 lol

Yes, that virus must have been a huge surprise for you guys and hopefully it will be over now.
Like I said in the previous post, there are many more surprises waiting for us and let's hope that some will be good surprises.

We will be having outr third wave of Covid after Easter they say. In the meantime people are still dying here every day.
Hahaha, evidence once again that women don't think like us, as she is most likely bored and wants to get back to her normal life of work. Not to forget that her friends at work must also be missing her.
Just a female thing I think as us men would rather be out in the mountains 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Here they say that we are almost at the end of the pandemic, but I believe that there will be at least a fourth wave after the third.

Yes, I agree with you that there will be a fourth wave and one only wonders what other surprises this virus will have, as it can change at any time.
So they vaccinate you against one and suddenly 10 other kinds arrive 😮
The vaccination producers are smiling all of the way to the bank.

So glad that she is now cleared Hannes and shame I think that she feels valued at work.
Will she also retire when you do?

Hahaha, I know what you mean and at times I have heard some of their chats.
Very confusing as 10 tpics in one sentence.
"You know, Jenny's cat died, but Arnold has a lovely new kitten and I hear that Joan says they are heading for a divorce, "gulp of coffee", but Norma says that Gertrude is much better and Klaus is at it with his mistress again, but I feel so sad for Sally, "gulp of coffee", as her new hairstyle looks terrible and her mother Jenny now has trouble with her washing machine."

All of this and more in one sentence!!! 🤣🤣🤣
So, no my friend, I don't think that you will be missed at all.

Not even the psyciatrists can figure it out my friend, so you and I can only stay confused.
The worst thing that you can do is to butt into that conversation with a question, or an opinion, as the looks that you get can certainly kill 🤣

So, you cultivate a system of silence and then later when you don't answer them, they accuse you of not listening to them 🤣

But yes, it is a totally different scenario when they want to ask for money.
All of a sudden they become the friendliest beings on earth with you and will go to any lengths and jumps to please you before they drop the big question for money and it normally starts with "Darling" 🤣

But the clever ones among us know when to strike and just before the big question, you can play as much rugby as you want plus, plus, plus 🤣😜😉

So yeah, as men we might be regarded as stupid to our advantages 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Oh yes, I have been down that road with women more times than you can count Hannes.
Stupidity rules the roost in my case and it can be very funny to see how a woman overcomes the mental obstacles that you can put in her way "innocently" of course to get what she wants.
But they have the habit of always getting what they want 🤣

Like I said, it all starts with that word "Darling".

Hahaha, a dentist of all things. Did I tell you that the pharmacists drive Porches over here?
I thought that thankfully my two daughters picked their husbands well, but my youngest daughter who is the most like me is now currently in divorce proceedings.

I have never used lawyers in my divorces, as I left everything and just walked away, as I know that lawyers take a big cut in divorces, but in my daughterr's case there's a couple of millions and properties involved, so lawyers on both sides is a must.
A sad thing, but...........!

Monika with "k" and I'm sorry, but I thought I had told you. My daughter's name is Lea - we wanted to give them names as short as possible to avoid any funny or weird nicknames, so Tim is Timmi and Lea is Lea :)

So what is your birthdate as Marian wants to put it into her birthday book.

I did advise her on the lawyer issue, but the rest I leave up to her as it is a delicate situation.
I don't want to hear her saying later that I said this or that when things screw up. She is a good business woman with her own company and I am sure that she will cope.

I agree that Big Pharma makes big money and sad that their profits come from sick people.
But then again it has become expensive to die, so the undertakers also makes money.

Marian is strict with birthdays, as I think it's the Irish blood that is disturbing her 🤣
She is the kindest soul that I knowans she insists that if one values a person, then it is only right that one should wish them on their birthdays. So who am I to argue.
I will have to talk to my auntie Hive about your V.n wish 🤣

So, you planned to have the twins on your birthday, but you copulated a wee bit too late methinks.
Should have waited a week or two 🤣
Amazing though that they arrived in the same month as you and by now you are used to buy birthday presents for two kids on the same day.

There's two years between each of my kids and none were born in April. They were born in November, July and August.
