It is not untypical for this butterfly to still fly in autumn. The Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) can fly until the first frost. However, it then looks for a sheltered place to hibernate. With a little luck you will meet this butterfly again in March on warm sunny days.

We have a rather warm autumn this year. And at that time there were no frosts. But during this week, at night there were frosts and butterflies disappeared from that place.
