Gold-dust Weevil On The Reeds

IMG_20210618_111054.jpg

On this sunny day, I want to share macro images of the gold-dust weevil. When I found it, I saw it climbing the reeds. This is something that gold-dust weevils don't normally do.

The gold-dust weevil is a leaf-eating insect, it likes the leaves of plants such as Hibiscus tiliaceus, and some types of weeds, especially young leaves.

Hypomeces squamosus or the gold-dust weevil is a species of true weevil belonging to the family Curculionidae. The weevil has a length of about 12-13 millimeters. Except for the abdomen, chest, and legs, almost all of its body was covered by a kind of yellow dust.
