Fascinating Insects: Asian Ant Mantis

Asian ant mantis- a species of praying mantis that look like ants. I would never know that a praying mantis before I noticed it closely. The Asian Ant Mantis (Odontomantis planiceps) resembles a little black ant. As the nymphs grow older, they gradually lose their ant-like and begin to look like a common praying mantis. A lot of ant mantis has an acidic taste and venomous sting which probably use to knock out their prey. These ant mantes have been quite around and moving a lot avoiding my shots. Due to these ant-like species have a very small body, I had to come really close to take shots.
