As Promised, I am back, and feeling a bit, STEEM-Y...

heres johnny.jpg

I know at least a few people care about my return! @galenkp @mindtrap @riverflows @journeyofanomad @audiefaith @lordgreene8080 .... Tag... YOUR ALL IT!!!

Lol, thank you for all your continued support and to all the rest of the STEEM community!

While I was away, my beautiful @audiefaith, gave me a little outside-insider info about how well the community has been doing. I was so excited! Was shadowboxing in my cell, like, HU-HU-HU-HUOAAAWWW!!! I afterwards smiled to myself at how buffoonish I probably looked. On second thought, I was alone. No one really saw me, except me, in the reflection of my distorted steel plate mirror, which was recklessly bolted to the wall. Now, I've told on myself and broke my cardinal rule, JUST FOR ALL YOU GUYS! I hope you enjoyed the visual. I did.

As I had planned, I have come to some solid goals for this new year. I will continue moving forward with STEEM, of course. I also plan to write and sell some music using Spotify and other stores. The most challenging goal that I have set, however, is this: I am going to write a full novel.

I already have the whole story line up in my noggin and I have begun writing. I nearly filled an entire legal pad with words in the last week, and already have some written from before I took my little, sabbatical. I am shooting for no less than 120,000 words, which I believe will be no problem to fulfill. In fact, the story may require more than one book to be written.

The story itself has me so mentally wrapped in it, that I am actually excited to write each new piece. Thank you again, @journeyofanomad for your encouragement in suggesting that I do this. I am already enjoying it. I learned a lot about structuring larger pieces of writing through the journalism I did for the Beyond Rejection, post. Although a 120,000 word piece is a much taller order than a, 4,000 word article, I am confident that I am prepared to do this. It will be a challenge and challenges are what create growth. It's just like working out to improve your physique. You must challenge your muscles, tearing them, so that you can build them up stronger. After you break yourself down with work, you fill yourself with the things your body needs (proper proteins and nutrition), so that you can heal, and do it all over, again. Each article that I have written on STEEM has, in a way, been that preparation, for me.

This platform has given me so much. I hope that you all enjoy the book when it is finished. I will not title it until I am finished, as I may change my mind in the next 100,000 words, lol. Also, I may post it's content in pieces on STEEM when I am done, so that those of you who don't want to pay to read it can still follow along.

Thank you everyone, and CHEERS to STEEM!

I love you so much. I have complete faith in you. I know you can write your novel and write it well! I am eager for the journey and in great anticipation to read the end result.
I feel so blessed , and am thankful, to God, for placing you along side me, as we go forward, to a brighter future.

Welcome back young fella. (I can say that as I am almost 50 and have earned the right to call people young fella.)

So, a great man (Ricky Bobby from Talledega Nights) once said..."If you're not first you're last," which is the dumbest thing ever but worked for the movie. I mean you could be second, third, fifth etc...However, I do believe in the phrase, "if you're not moving forwards, you're going backwards," because time never stops and moving forward in thought and deed is preferable than standing still waiting to get overtaken. Many of them disagree though, but they're so far behind that we can't see them anymore.

Anyway, a long winded way of saying that your plans of moving forward are well-founded.

So, a novel huh? Good plan. I wrote one over the period of a year back around 2000. It's got over 440,000 thousand words and I had it hard bound and gave it to my wife as a gift. It was a really enjoyable and rewarding experience. I think you'll find your journey the same.

I look forward to hearing about your journey and seeing the results.

Thank you for the warm and humorous, welcome back. 440,000 words, huh? WELL, that is pretty impressive. That is a beautiful thing to have given the one you love. True devotion. Good man.

Took me about 14 months of writing. I still write like that, even now, but not for steem. I gave it to my wife as a wedding anniversary and birthday gift (we got married on her birthday) and she cherishes it as one of her most prized possessions. It made me happy, and also the writing of it brought me the clarity I needed at the time. It was somewhat cathartic, the process, and there's much of me, the old and new, in that book.

Anyway, good to see you got out of the big-house...That tunnel you dug worked perfectly after all! :)

Well of course!!! Subterranean strategy. Works, every time. I am writing something fictional... The story will be something of a Dystopian Fiction. It will also involve, some subterranean natural selection. Among many, many, other things. ;P

Oh, intriguing...Looking forward to it.

Mine was a fictional thing, adventure, romance, battles, some humour...Set in a fictional place but a mediaeval era.

Get after it mate...A great endeavour and as you wrote well, I'm sure it will be cool.

Yes, yes it can be... but if there was no struggle, there could be no reward. When those rewards seem far and in between, I try to focus on the simple joys in life, and find a comfort in my own existence. When the challenges that we need to overcome seem staggering, sometimes we have to take a step back and enjoy something small, to remind us of the beauty in existence. Even if that just means dissecting the flavors in your next meal, feeling the rain on your skin, looking at the stars, or feeling the sun on your skin. Also, vitamin D helps, a lot. Try eating some oranges... ;P I hope this helps.
