Seems like an oversight on their part. It should be expected that types of batteries (9, AA, AAA, etc) are the same size and will work in anything requiring that type. I guess I will know what to check if a battery doesn't fit.

I think other batteries are more standard, but the 9V is variable. It's just annoying.
