Mad Max Driver Used An Armored Camaro In A War Zone To Get Supplies To Trapped Civilians

(Edited)

Howdy folks and greetings from the Great Plains of North Texas!

I love it when men of courage and action risk everything to help others and this is what this story is about.

In the 1990's during the Bosnian War, a Danish special forces soldier started running desperately needed medical supplies and other aid to civilians deep in the country where the U.N. weren't able to go.

Here's the Camaro he used:

The United States Air Force helped him to "harden" it with armor in key spots and they coated it with radar-absorbing paint which put him in Stealth mode along with other modifications.

They also filled the tires with special foam so they wouldn't go flat if they got shot and installed a wet nitrous injection system which would double the power of his 220hp V8 to give him ESCAPE SPEED! Which he had to use on quite a few occasions.

His name is Helge Meyer, there he is on the right:

source

He made an incredible difference and saved many lives all by himself. He made his runs late at night but there were roving groups of bandits all over the country and he had many narrow escapes, once catching a bullet in his helmet!

Here's a view of some of the roads he traveled in the dark of night:

source

It's remarkable that he kept delivering emergency supplies until 2005. The war ended in 1995! He's a Christian and credits his success and survival to a Guardian Angel.

Actually, I'm sure he had more than one assigned to him, besides his personal one. He's written a book about his hair-raising incidents during his service there but I think it's only in German at this time. It's called Gott’s Rambo.

That's a book I'd love to read! He lives back home in Denmark now and still has the Camaro. I bet he never lets that car go!

Thanks for reading folks, God bless you all!

PS- Here's another kind of hero...this story takes place in Ukraine. A big plant had an explosion and fire there, catching nearby homes on fire.

At one home the owners rushed out of the house carrying what valuables they could grab and taking the dog out with them. But when they got outside the dog looked around and to the owner's astonishment and fear he rushed BACK into the burning house!

The smoke and flames were so thick that the owners couldn't go after him, they just kept calling him and feared the worst. When they thought all hope was gone, a silhouette emerged from the flames.

It was their dog holding their little kitten which they hadn't seen when they ran out of the house. The dog and the kitten had been playing and spending every day together so the dog's first instinct was to rescue his friend!

Here's the hero:

We have many inspiring examples of virtue and courage, it's really intriguing for me how are we able to witness such goodness and cruelty on simultaneously in our lifetime

Howdy sir joelsegovia! It is a real mixture in this world isn't it? I think the good far, far outweighs the bad in this country but in too many other places it's a mixed bag. How's it going there? Any good news?

Within regular people, the good outweighs the bad by far. But within people with power, the ones who takes decisions that impacts the life of millions... Well the proportion is just the opposite ...

For us the situation is quite troublesome, I deeply respect the citizens of the US, but the government of the US are not worthy of their citizens trust... The situation here has somehow stabilized but when we start to somehow pick up some economy improvement the White House just blows another set of sanctions....

Right now I have been working as a translator in a company dedicated to foreign commerce... My friend I can tell you, far from putting pressure on the government, the sanctions are hurting the people of my country... The freight for importing medicine, food, and other raw materials have increased three/ four folds. This impacts the final price to the consumer

Also, while it's true that sanctions on the government oil company builds pressure on the government, the cash flow on the national economy also suffers a big blow because of this...

That is what I was afraid of sir joelsegovia, the U.S. government needs another tactic to pressure the leaders. I don't know what they would be though but the whole situation is very depressing.

uh huh..I think you're turning cold blooded on us sir Vincent. I've been noticing a distinct change in your writing.

I fear you are turning to the dark side and will turn into a real meany... and your assessment of my post makes it clear...that this is a depressing spiral downward.

The only cure I know of is to drink more beer but it needs to be real strong redneck beer to be effective! lol.

That Black Dog movie got bad reviews. Most Trucking movies do cuz all the people that write reviews are little City Boy SnoFlake Libturds. True Story

Randy Travis / Meatloaf / Swayze... You really need to watch it. Good stuff. Here is the movie trailer for it.

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0120610/

It was an ok movie. Even that Sylvester Stallone movie where He was a Trucker got Shit on by the Pedo HollyWeird Elitist Turd Flingers.

Over the Top Movie Trailer.

Have You ever heard the statement.... Do not buy it. Wait a couple years till they improve on it and work out the bugs....

Like Auto drive vehicles It will be killing fields, a slaughter house.

Do You think the Movie Terminator was just make believe.... Do a search on the Real "Sky Net" maybe do a story about that.... Brain Chip... SMFH. @pooky-jax

.... A.i. is only as good as the people who create it..... And there are some REALLY EVIL-VILE FUCKERS (pardon my french) in charge of the a.i...... One word says it ALL...... "GOOGLE"

Haha! Yeah I know there's alot to be concerned about. With the good stuff there is lots of scary stuff too. The younger generation will go along with all of it and think it's great.
The idea of autonomous vehicles is still very strange to me but they're comimg regardless so we'll see. I guess try not to drive too much until they get the bugs worked out like you said.

I wonder if the real life sky net will control the A.i. brain chips....

And Do You think maybe Like the one in the Terminator series. It could become self aware and see Us as a threat and exterminate You and I....?

Maybe the real life Terminators will be Chippers....?

Here is a search with the modern day sky net right there with the make believe one.... Lmao5ksk6q.jpg

lol...so you must be Leisure Man today! lol...lounging around with your co-pilots or something like that. Well, supposedly Elon Musk is very leery of AI so he thinks this will be a protection against it.

Not sure how that works, maybe if he thinks humans are as smart as AI then we won't be taken by surprise.

I don't know. I heard that even cats will have those chips though, which means they'll be smarter than krazzytrukker! Not sure how that's gonna work out.

Hey with 5G launching everywhere that's what's supposed to unleash the autonomous semis. I guess they'd have to be electric ones right? How else would they fuel themselves up? that one is still hard to believe.

I'll believe it when krazzytrukker gets his pink slip sayin he's been replaced by no one... just a driverless truck!

Bring on the pink slips.... I am too dumb to quit....

I figure with the lawsuits and death the auto trucks are gonna have to overcome it will be awhile. Maybe I can get 5-10 more yrs.

Unless You got that million dollar load of deadly toilets for Me to haul located....??!!

Then I am out..... Gone Fishin'

I'm with you Jon Boy, it is just that "The News" and all the "lamestream media" only want to show the bad stuff.
Oh the national news shows like to end with an upbeat story, but it is an afterthought.

Very true. They've always said that people are more interested in bad news but I don't know if that's true anymore, they should try it the other way around and see what happens!

I agree, for me the main reason I watch the news, the local news is for the local weather, and to see if there has anything happened close to me or anyone I know.
Otherwise, it is all robberies, murders, car-jacking, home invasions etc etc.
Also it is useful to know of any road closures due to construction or accidents.

National news, I watch mainly to see if there have been any volcanic eruptions, earthquakes or large storms, assassinations or coup d'état's that will affect me, my country or family/friends around the world.
Otherwise, I have no use for the sports, the impeachment trials (what a waste of time; I mean really, congress almost never gets any work done in the first place, but the Dems had the whole show all tied up for what? 8 months?)

0

Howdy today sir Jerry! I agree and that's why I watch the local and national news too. Usually just watch the first 10 minutes or so of national news to see if anything major has happened and then the local for the reasons you mentioned.

We also are on a local email group that is for just our part of the county and people get on there and talk about things happening in the neighborhood like any theft going on or lost pets or flooded roads, etc.

Yeah the impeachment trial just demonstrates that congress is the very best at wasting time and money!

I have accounts in both places. Can't stand reddit though, and I almost never go to my twitter account.
I used to routinely share my posts from Tsū to Twitter, but I haven't been bothering with Steemit, seems like it can't find my account or something.

There is this new #posh thing going around (Proof Of Sharing) where that #posh is a link to twitter where you've shared your post.
I have no idea why that should be of value to spend our time jumping though even more hoops.

Good Morning @janton, I hope you rested well.
No, reddit nor twitter pay for posting, nor does FB for that matter, but I have over 1400 friends and followers there. I've been doing the "Suckabug two step" since about 2003 (Suckabug = Zuckerberg, the idiot who founded FB and can't afford a decent haircut)
nlwdox.png
So I just can't turn my back over there. As much as I hate it, I know when I've received a PM, (private message) I can see my newsfeed (if I want, now steemit has done away with the newsfeed) etc etc... my brothers and sisters and most of my friends could never POSSIBLY hope to navigate through the madness that steemit and the other front ends have become.

lol..one of the richest men in the world can't afford a decent haircut! lol..that's hilarious. I understand. Well, lots of people tell me they're just on steemit for friends and a social life so it makes sense. At least fb is user friendly.

I don't know about that @janton. I got up this morning, and for the first several hours my newsfeed wouldn't show me but 3 posts, max. If I refreshed, it acted like I was new to FB and starting a new account
qlw57c.jpg
It had returned to normal by lunch time, but I checked with some groups and there were hundreds of others reporting the same thing
