"Oryol Fortress": historical and ethnographic educational festival, city Orel Russia

The weather today did not contribute to street activities. I have already decided that the festival will be postponed to another date. In the morning it’s rainy, overcast, very windy. Forecast for the day did not give anything in terms of good weather, the sun at least for a while. Just in case, I still went to the venue of the historical and ethnographic educational festival "Oryol Fortress" at the appointed time. A little later, of course, I am often late, and even more so in bad weather at a social event. Go close, at the same time and you can take a walk, if suddenly the festival does not take place. I was pleased when I saw that a historical holiday was already unfolding in several places.

Contrary to the forecast, the skies deigned to let the festival unfold, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, the sun came out

The main venue of the festival is a memorial park in honor of the 400th anniversary of the city of Orel on the banks of the Oka. At the beginning of the festival, some city art groups performed at the monument to Ivan the Terrible. It was by decree of this king in 1566. the beginning of the Oryol fortress was laid.

The guests and participants of the festival were told about the history of our region since its inception. I was most interested in economic development in ancient times. The Oka River was navigable. The eagle was famous in the 18th century for the trade in bread and hemp, and manufacturing began to develop widely.

The festival presents costumes, attributes of military battles of different times - the struggle with the Crimean Tatars, the Patriotic War of 1812, the participation of the Oryolites in the First World War and the Civil War, World War II.

Here they taught to mint coins. Interested persons have tried.

The beautiful lady expressed a desire to do wooden crafts. The master showed how to work, she took skillfully.

In general, I liked the festival. Useful for the younger generation, and the older one is interested. I showed individual photos, in fact there are a lot of impressive. I shot some fragments of the video.
