The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Genesis 28, Post #5
Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.
Genesis 28:15-18
We heard the Creator in the midst of his promise last week. We get the rest of it this week along with Jacob's reaction to the dream and the place at which he found him self sleeping. He wakes and does not want to forget what happened there so me marks the spot and anoints it with oil.

Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely YHVH is in this place, and I did not know it." And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven." So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it.

The story continues next week as Jacob vows a tithe...
