Genesis 24:1-4

Chapter twenty four starts with Abraham getting old. He was blessed by the Creator in all ways.

So Abraham talked to his oldest and most trusted household servant. He will make his servant swear an oath to YHVH and put his hand under Abraham's thigh, as was the custom.

He must swear that he will not choose a wife from the people of Canaan for his son. That he will go to Abraham's kindred people to get a wife for Isaac.

The story continues next week as the servant asks for specifics ...
