Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.

Genesis 22:6-8

They journeyed up the mountain that they were shown. They had the wood and the fire with them.

I cannot imagine the heaviness of heart with which Abraham walked. His son next to him walking and talking. Abraham knowing that his son may not return with him if he goes through with the sacrifice.

Then Isaac asks, "Father, we have the wood and the fire, but where is the lamb we will use in the burnt offering?"

Abraham responds, "Elohim will look after getting a lamb for himself, my son."

And they walked on...

The story continues next as Abraham hears the word Stop!
