HardFork 21 - Welcome! Author and Curation Rewards before and after

avatar

I was just wondering what would happen if I calculated both values for my upcoming authors and curators rewards. I wrote down the values at SteemWorld (btw. the best tool by the great guy @steemchiller) once before the HardFork and once after the HardFork.

Surprisingly I make more profit with both.... Why? no idea so far. I will check it out.

Author-Rewards before hf21

Curation-Rewards before hf21

Author-Rewards after hf21

Curation-Rewards after hf21

Thanks for the pictures, it's a really interesting, real-world comparison of what's happening with HF21 @louis88

Because HF21 changes favour exactly content creators like you?
I'll need to see if I find where I read it exactly, but it said something like that:

People who made more than 20 STEEM on avg with their posts will receive even more rewards after the fork,
whereas people like me who usually get below 20 STEEM will see diminished returns.

Which was exactly the reason why every dolphin and minnow, and people who actually want to see this community thrive, were concerned about the changes.

People who spend hours for a post and receive a few cents for their efforts were driven away already before the change, and many argue it might get worse now.

Let's see!

Okay, thanks! That means that the community has to care more about good content.... Content that means long work ... is better found and therefore better rewarded. Just as it should be. I myself don't think much of the 274 Actifit Post in my feed... that's absolute nonsense content for me...

I am curious how the next 7 days will be...

Yes, exactly. I really hope that also the change to 50/50 rewards for the author and curator might be a factor that plays in positively for this exact reason.

Now people actually have more intention to seek for these good quality posts, even if they might be from a still unknown user.

But what I fear is that, certain circles of peole who were already circle-jerk self-voting low quality posts of themselves (spammy information posts about steem/btc price etc), will even have higher intention of just keep doing that.

Let's just hope people use their free flag per day to counter that, and HF21 could actually be a great thing!

Yep, I'm right here with you. Unfortunately it is hard to find good and underpaid content at Steemit and his mass of contributions. That of course communities are formed and preferentially voted is clear, but you have to break out of the habits.

I for my part vote a lot in the German speaking community, vote people I deal with daily on Steemit. People or Steemians I have already met in Real Life and people with whom I work on projects. Also projects that are Steem relevant to get new users on the blockchain... I have adapted my automatic votes now also once...

The with the free flag on a day I must look now once more exactly... as this behaves. I will make use of it of course, because content, which I do not like and in my opinion is rewarded too high ... there I can finally vote against free of charge. Very good!
