Steem Gratitude and Update Post

I feel so blessed by this community more every day.

I just recieved this awesome gift from my buddy @nateonsteemit it's a salve to help heal cuts and scrapes. He also sent me some goji berry seeds which will get planted in some pots tomorrow! This is some of the first mail I've received at the land :)

I've picked up some odd jobs and been shopping around on craigslist for supplies recently. If you've been following me you know I like to plan things out with crappy sketches. Here's the plan I have moving forward after spending some days on the land and studying the shade/sun areas and the view from the main road.

I have listed all the foods I know will grow well in the area and the crops/livestock I plan to raise. I've been reading Joel Salatins Book "You Can Farm" and a big opportunity he talks about in the book is a pastured poultry operation. It's an 8 week turnaround to grow cornish cross chickens, and a minimal infrastructure investment to get started. I plan to get that operation going after getting the camper and solar trailer more set up and secured on the land.

Here's my underground tornado shelter that's acting as a temporary materials storage currently.

Got a new mailbox set up as the old one didn't have an opening flap anymore.

I also drilled the 3" hole in this 55 gallon barrel so I can get my 2" overflow pipe to the 270 gallon water catchment going. There has recently been lots of rainfall that showed me how beneficial it was to have this 55 gallon tank first to keep some sediments out of the larger tote.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but there's a short update for y'all.
