GOLDENCENSER CHALLENGE #3 - INTERCESSION

I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Romans 15:30

Intercession or intercessory prayers is the act or process of offering prayers and petitions to God on behalf of another person. It is simply the standing in the gap for someone else, family, church or group of persons. It is necessary that as children of God, we intercede for one another where necessary. there is great power in intercessory prayers.

A perfect example of an intercessor is Christ Jesus. He constantly intercedes for us and God yields to Him. With the intercession of Jesus Christ, when He died on Calvary's tree, none of us would have been here today. In the same vein, we should learn from our Master and act suit.

In the case of Peter when he was in the prison; who knows, he would have been killed by Herod but not for the intercessory prayers offered by the church for him. Look around you, you will see people you ought to pray and intercede for. God might not listen to the person's prayers but could hear us.

If you discover that one is going through some hard and difficult times, do not just sit down and fold your arms, go and your knees and intercede. The good news is that whenever you intercede for others, your needs are being taken care of. we see that one of the ways of getting God to meet your needs is by interceding for others.

Let's say your hands are dirty and you use it to wash any clothing. Although you never had intention of washing your hands, you will agree with me that in the process of making the clothing clean, your hands gets clean too. That is the same thing that happens whenever you intercede for others.

It should not always be about you; create time to pray for others and you will be blessed in return. May God bless us with these words - Amen
