12 goals for 2020 - self sustainability & perfecting parenting

It is important to set clear goals moving forward. We may not always achieve them (and that's okay!) but as my dad used to say "when you aim high, you hit high".

Ideally one should set short, medium and long term goals. Vibrationally speaking it is an essential part of manifestation and when in partnership which someone it is especially important that all members of the party be clear on the goals and in total agreement.

So, looking towards 2020 Sabrina & I decided to create 12 clear goals.

  • Learning the land comes before everything else as we enter deeper into the Grand Solar Minimum. 50% of our food will be home produced by the end of 2020.
  • Find a new home which must tick the following boxes - in mountains, isolated, running water nearby, fertile soil & with the potential for others to join us as a community.
  • Continue to educate Esteban & Luna through our actions & our travels. Declare Esteban as being homeschooled & get him out of nursery school.
  • Only use the computer when the kids are sleeping or creating. Always be available for them.
  • Collect and share potentially life saving books & films which can be downloaded through the @survival-archive account.
  • Buy Sundaya solar kits to be resold for crypto as part of the @survival-archive initiative which aims to ensure as many people as possible have access to encyclopaedias of knowledge, even in the event of no internet & no power.

Screen Shot 20190921 at 15.49.07.png

  • Cut our electricity bill by 50% through natural heating methods, solar & DC products (which work much more efficiently with solar).
  • Learn to build water filtration systems & stop drinking bottled water.
  • Increase our knowledge & understanding of the local plants, along with our knowledge of high nutrition raw food preparation, making sure the kids love it too!
  • One day per week I will speak only French. While I want the kids to learn English, I also want to improve my French, which is currently their primary language.
  • Leave the house with the kids every day, no matter the weather. Snow clothes were acquired today at the local car boot sale!
  • Have more sex, being careful not to make any more babies... for now ;)

And there you have it.

We have time yet to adjust them before 2020 begins.

Have you thought about your goals for 2020?

no time like the present!

Over & out for now from the Pyrenees Mountains in the South of France.

Finding a new home??? I thought you had your forever home, or were they part of last years goals? I was listening to a radio show yesterday about speaking dual language to kids, and it certainly has it's benefits for them socially and as part of their brain development. It was hard work for the parents, but a worthy thing to do! Harder in Australia, where the migrant communities are smaller and the kids are just exposed to English at school which means flipping into another language harder at home. I wish I'd learnt another language. Your goals are awesome. Funnily enough, I'm putting mine on hold for a year 'homestead' wise though there are a lot of projects I want to see in action, like a polytunnel and more produce to sustain us. We got the solar panels this year though - next is some water tanks. I hope we can find a decent house sitter whilst we disappear. We might pop past the Pyrenees for a visit, who knows!!

While we really love this village it doesn't tick all the boxes. The average age here is 60+ and people are very much stuck in the old ways. It still makes for an awesome place to hang out for a while, so please come visit any time!

Sounds like you have things well under control and a little travelling will only re-energise you further. Travelling will be on 2021 goal list. Just want to get the solid foundations built first, if you know what I mean.

I also read something on how dual language affects the brain in a positive way. Wish I'd had a second language around me as a child! I probably wouldn't be so suck when it comes to french. My brain just doesn't seem to accept it. Still, one day a week will help ;)

I have followed you for some time, although I rarely comment due to having nothing of significance to add to your sharing. This time I find I do, so here goes.

When I was taking HVAC classes some time back, I became enamored with the idea of heat pumps. Not sure on how much power they consume, nor your choices when it comes to powering them, but long term they are well worth the initial costs when one understands how energy efficient they are.

Good luck with your goals. I look forward to reading your progress with them in the coming year.

Heat pump
A heat pump is a device that transfers heat energy from a source of heat to what is called a thermal reservoir. Heat pumps move thermal energy in the opposite direction of spontaneous heat transfer, by absorbing heat from a cold space and releasing it to a warmer one. A heat pump uses external power to accomplish the work of transferring energy from the heat source to the heat sink.
The most common design of a heat pump involves four main components – a condenser, an expansion valve, an evaporator and a compressor.

Wow! Hadn't heard of this. And it sounds like the kind of information which would be useful to provide through the @survival-archive account. So, thanks for sharing your wisdom at this perfect moment.

Am assuming I will find plenty more info on how one might go about constructing this kind of system?

Will get back to you if i don't!

I found some links to get you started. Has been several years since my schooling, and most of it is sketchy now as they failed to tell me at the time I was to old to actually get work in the field, lol.

One of the things to remember is the principle behind an ac unit (which is what the heat pump uses). Most people assume they function by pushing cold air into the room, but what they are actually doing is extracting the heat from the room, making it boil (changing the saturation point) through manipulation of pressure in the refrigerant and then throwing that heat outside.

This video made me laugh. He stripped what he needed from an old refrigerator. My instructor was an old HVAC contractor who advised us to do the same to save money on a pump when we were starting out.

This video is intricate, as the guy makes solar panels to make his more diverse in functionality. The one takeaway I got from it though was he appears to only go under the house and hot down into the ground as many heat pumps do, as the temperature remains more constant (and warmer in the winter) the further down you go.

It appears that at 8 feet or so down that despite being freezing temp on the surface the temp will be somewhere around 50 degrees. Hope this gives you a good place to start.

You are a legend! This is all mega interesting and your personal knowledge invaluable.

These links are perfect to get me started.

We even have a spare fridge ready to break apart, should we choose ;)

Thanks again 🙏🏻

Sounds goals I could not fault them. Maybe I need to look at some for myself. It's been a hectic and stressful year so main one it going to be to get back into my practices and revitalise me energies. 💯🐒

I know the feeling. It has been a rather hectic and stressful year for me too. All the more reason to set goals so that next year is more focused on the important stuff. And crypto willing, we will enjoy next year all the more while we watch our investments grow ;)
