2021 goals and 2020 results

Hi Friends,

I have never been one to make New Year Resolutions, but have set some goals for the upcoming year in the past.

With 2021 now here, I am thinking about a few goals for 2021.

First though, here are last year’s goals and how I did:

  • Run/hike 150 miles in the year - ACCOMPLISHED (did 256 miles!)
  • Find a gold nugget greater than 1 gram - FAILED
  • Play at least 10 rounds of golf - FAILED (only got in 6)
  • Catch my new personal best halibut at greater than 21 inches - FAILED
  • Learn two new songs on the banjo - FAILED
  • Pick up rockrounding as a hobby - FAILED
  • Help Kendra catch her first fish on her own - ACCOMPLISHED (caught her first fish in 2020!)
  • Visit and taste test 5 new local breweries - FAILED (due to covid)
  • Hike to the peak of a mountain - ACCOMPLISHED
  • Make a new YouTube video that surpasses 1,000 views - FAILED (made two YouTube videos, one has 125 views, one has 450)
  • Eat 15 steaks greater than 1 pound each - FAILED (only made it to 12)

So it appears I didn’t do so good on my 2020 goals... here are my 2021 goals, hopefully I will do better!

  • Run/hike 200 miles in the year
  • Find a gold nugget greater than 0.5 grams
  • Play at least 10 rounds of golf
  • Pick up rockrounding as a hobby
  • Visit and taste test 5 new local breweries or wineries
  • Hike to the peak of a mountain
  • Make a new YouTube video that surpasses 1,000 views
  • Eat 12 steaks greater than 1 pound each
  • Take the kids tent camping for the first time (not counting the backyard)
