Sweet Potato Growing

My intention is to grow some roots on this sweet potato so I can maybe transfer it later on a pot of soil. I saw something like this on the photo online.

They suspend it or sometimes submerge it halfway through the water until some roots show up

I did not notice that the vines are already long but thin. As if they were reaching for the sun light. As you can tell I am growing this inside our house

Up close the vines of this purple sweet potato are thin and pale. I will bring this outside tomorrow and will find a suitable pot. I am just trying things I see online and see what will happen next. I am excited to see this overgrowth and decided that I will share it here with you my fellow garden lovers.
