Today we show you a quick inexpensive, and easy way to plant tiny seeds such as carrots in your garden. When you use this easy method to plant your tiny seeds you will use fewer seeds and will require less thinning after you have germination.

All that is required for this easy way to plant seeds is some sand, measuring spoons and an old jar to mix everything. Mix 1 part seed with 100 parts sand. Shake and stir thoroughly to ensure the seeds are well distributed through the sand. Then simply shake out the seed and sand mix in the rows where you want your carrots to grow. As an added bonus, the sand will typically contrast with your soil, so you will be able to identify where your seeds should sprout.

If you are going to use this easy may to plant any of your tiny seeds, here is some additional thoughts on the sand. River sand is cheap, or free, but it is often loaded with weed seed. Using river sand is going to introduce unnecessary weeds to your garden. A washed concrete sand will be free of those weed seeds and is inexpensive to buy in a single bag. The unused portion of the sand can be used to amend your soil.
